Coming events

I hope you have all had a very restful and relaxing holiday and managed to stay warm and dry. Farewell and thank you! Mrs Geri Ryan has made the very difficult decision to retire as our art teacher. I know Mrs Ryan is enjoying lots of cuddles with her new grandson as she moves into her well-earned retirement. On behalf of the entire school community, thank you Geri for all you have given to St Joseph’s. The children do miss your art lessons and we look forward to welcoming you back to school regularly as one of our relief teachers. The Kindy/PP/1 class bid farewell to Tessa Bendotti this week as she has moved to Bridgetown. I know everyone will really miss Tessa’s smile and we wish her every happiness in her new school, St Brigid’s.

Gold coins, gold coins! No, you are not hearing things! As part of our PBS program, we have introduced a whole school incentive program to celebrate all the wonderful behaviours that are around our school. Every recess and lunch time the duty teachers hand out gold coins to students who remember our school rules. Once back in class, the coins are placed in a jar. At the end of the week, we will collect the coins and record the amount. The students were asked what they would like to do as a reward to celebrate milestones along the way. Soon our Gold coin ‘thermometer’ will be up for everyone to see how we are progressing. Watch this space as we can’t wait to get to our first increment. P&F and School Board Our next series of meetings will be Tuesday 16 August.

Options Program There is only six sleeps until our Options program commences. Thank you to our leaders who are making it possible to run the following: Dance - Mrs Tempra Kites - Mr Kelly Coding - Mr Pardini Minecraft - Mrs Moynihan Cooking - Ms Moorman, Mrs Bendotti and Mrs Ellis Thank you again to Mrs Tempra for the job well done to manage this program. Living fundraisers #2 Stay tuned, as the next fundraising drive will be coming home. This one is a selection of tasty snack packs. All families will receive a pack to either purchase for themselves or on-sell to others. The P&F have three drives in total booked. The herb tins allowed us to retain 35% of the profit and the snack packs will give our school a 40% profit margin. Stay tuned!
