  • Architecture is a reflection of the social, political,

    economic and cultural status of a particular region.

    By this hypothesis, are we to understand that the expansive glass

    facades and gilt-edged interiors are an expression of the local tradition

    and people?

    While this seems flawed when one looks at the aWhile this seems flawed when one looks at the architecture in our

    country today, there is still some relevance. With the advent of mass

    communication systems and an overhauled standard of living, men and

    women from all over are now participating in the pseudo globalization of

    daily activities and the creation of a single set of characteristics that

    dene the billions.

    Influences Influences overlap and the lines between cultures are blurred - leading to

    the formation of a third dimension that is devoid of a contextual

    influence. Local heritage seems to have taken a backseat, allowing the

    modern movement to steer through the cacophony caused by

    conflicting ideologies.

    The singularity of this image, howThe singularity of this image, however, has achieved a synergy between

    commercial environments across the world, establishing a consistent

    dialogue for business practices. But at what cost?

    To create highly efcient workspaces that are in tune with local context

    and todays necessities, modern utility and design must strike a balance

    with the generations of art and architecture this vast country has

    witnessed.

    PParticipants may translate this brief through the design of a start-up

    business centre.

    GUIDELINES

    The aThe area of the site may not exceed 2 acres with a ground cover area

    of 40%. Height of the project may not exceed 15m.

    Relevant bye-laws and other pertinent rules and regulations must be

    followed.

    PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

    A synopsis of maximum 2 A4 sheets may be used to support your

    design.

    A maximum of 6 A1 sheets mA maximum of 6 A1 sheets maybe be used to present the design.

    Choice of sheets and scale of details is left to the discretion of the

    participant(s).

    Dimensions should be in the metric scale and all written matter and

    drawings should be legible.

    The sheets should be clearly numbered and the format should clearly

    mention ZONASA 2014.

    In the format of the sheet on the botIn the format of the sheet on the bottom right hand corner a box of

    25mm x 25mm should be provided next to the NASAINDIA logo for

    the unique Reverb 2014 registration number of the college that will be

    given prior to the convention.

    Any mention of the college name on the sheets will lead to immediate

    disqualication.

    Manually Manually rendered sheets must be scanned at 300x300dpi resolution

    and be submitted in a .JPG format in a CD during the convention.
