- The Chihuhuan Desert (pictured to right)-The Sonoran Desert- The Great Basin Desert- The Mojave Desert
To be considered a desert an area must less than 10 inches of annual rainfall

FaunaThe Greater Earless Lizard basks in the sun, and then burrows underground when temperatures get too high
