Naynowsze wzory kaligrafii w i^zyku polskim,francuskim i laciriskim. w Wroclawiu: nak-ladem Wilhelma Bogumila Korna, 1808. 86 mmX23 cm. pp.8, twenty-two leaves not num-bered, with examples for calligraphy printedrecto. Engraved by I. A.Eckhardt.

The publishing house of the Korn family in1732 moved from Berlin to Wroclaw, whereit soon came to specialize in books for EasternEurope, especially Poland: editions of Polishclassics, the Bible, prayer books, variousmanuals, and school books. Naynowsze wzorybelong in the last group.

This book is very rare and there are no copiesin the National Library in Warsaw, theSilesian Library in Katowice, or the Osso-lineum in Wroclaw. The latter two specializein Silesiaca but the Naynowsze wzory is

entirely unknown to them. It is not mentionedin W. Chojnacki's bibliography of Polish pro-testant publications in the northern andwestern provinces {Bibliografia polskich drukowewangelickich Ziem Zachodnich i Poinocnych^530-1939 (Warszawa, 1966)). Mme JaninaW^dolkowska, who in 1956 started publishingher bibliography of the Polish output of theKorns (in Kwartalnik opolski, 1956, nos. 2, 3)has no record of this manual and the same istrue of Mme Aleksandra Mendykowa who ispreparing for publication a bibliography ofW. B. Korn.

This little book is entered under 'Wzory'in the original version of K. Estreicher'sBibliografia polska XIX stolecia, but no descrip-tion is given. This suggests that the authorknew about it from one of W. B. Korn'scatalogues but had not seen a copy himself.
