WHY İS MONNA LİSA BEAUTİFUL• Monna Lisa is a great painting. But what makes this woman on the painting so beautiful?

Lines of the face are unclear and a theory says that this unclearness makes the face beautiful. Because lines of the face are unclear, people fill these lines in their minds and this filling is different in each person because each person fills the gaps as in the most beautiful way for them. Every one has a different taste of beauty so, for example design of a car can be beautiful for someone, but for others it’s ugly. So I used this effect in my design to make a car which would be liked by every one.

THE 3 LİNES RULE• One of the golden rules of car design is the 3 lines rule. It says that cars must have 3

mainlines, and more lines makes the car uglier. As an irrational behaviour of our minds, we don’t like to think harder on something not important and we don’t. If the car has a very complex design like having more mainlines than 3, we think more and to prevent it, we don’t mention the unimportant mainline. Also this makes us think more and as we don’t like thinking more, we don’t like the design.

• Although my car has 4 mainlines, this extra mainline is not useles. I designed Nero in a way that we can’t get away without mentioning the extra mainline. Also I hadn’t put any decoration to make the design more simple, and neutralize the bad effect of the extra mainline.

CAR DESİNG STYLES• There are mainly 3 styles of car design:

- Strait Lines: Design has straight, sharp lines and edges.

- Muscle Car Style: Design include big muscles.

- European Fluent Style: Design has fluent lines, mostly without having sharp edges and not having big muscles.

• I designed Nero as a car which has natural lines because people like natural things more than sharp and straight lined things. I wanted to make a design which will be liked by people who likes the muscle car style and by people who like the European fluent style also.

DESİGN PHİLOSOPHY OF NERO• Nero has one extra mailine to use the Monna Lisa effect. Mainline A is mostly straight line

and mainline B is a muscular line. As human beings, we will consider a mainline more and less mention the other mainline less. A person who likes American type muscle cars will give more importance to mainline B and imagine Nero as a muscle car. Or an another person who likes European style less muscular and fluent designs will give more importance to mainline A and imagine Nero an an European style car, as he or she likes.
