delhi public school, sushant lok class xi...
TRANSCRIPT
Your wards have entered the +2 stage. The+2 refers to the two years of studying postclass X in a specialized stream chosen byyour ward. Class XI is the foundation yearof class XII with success in class XI beingcritical to success in class XII. Both thecurriculum and all the details pertaining tothe examination, syllabus and choice ofsubjects at this level is governed by CBSEand its Bye laws.
Choice of Stream and Subjects
The school offers three streams
HUMANITIES ;
COMMERCE with or without MATHS
SCIENCE ; PCM, PCB
Every child is expected to have five main
subjects – English and four others.
The Optional Sixth Subject
The board however also gives the studentsthe option of choosing an additional sixthsubject. In our school we offer PhysicalEducation or Painting as the additionalsixth subject.
The purpose of the sixth subject is twofold.
The sixth subject can become a savior for yourward.
The sixth subject can improve the aggregatepercentage of your ward.
CBSE Registration in Class XI:
Student’s details and the subjects chosen by them are registered with CBSE in September. These subjects are then continued in class XII.
White forms seeking information will be sent to you in the First Week of August.
All 5 subjects chosen and the sixth one is to be filled in it.
All data is to be filled very clearly and cautiously. Avoid any overwriting in it.
The information filled in it will be used for CBSE registration for class XI.
The special/additional documents required for registration (OBC certificate, medical assessment reports in case of students with special needs, copy of Aadhaar card of student etc.) to be submitted to the class teacher along with the white forms.
Review of Main Subjects and
Optional Sixth Subject
Your ward’s stream (five main subjects) have been finalized after
declaration of class X board result.
We hope that the subjects have been chosen keeping in mind your
wards interest as well as abilities. Because every child is different with
their own strengths and weakness. So before registration please look
at the subjects chosen honestly and realistically, as we do not want to
put the student under undue stress and pressure.
If you feel that your ward is finding it difficult to cope up with a specific
subject, it would be better to change it before registration. By the
time of Registration, two rounds of FA's would be over which would be
good indicators of your ward's ability to handle a subject.
Also do consider once again the option ofadditional sixth subject.
Sometime we insist upon 6th subject on thebasis of the student’s performance if we feelthat the child might struggle to cope up withone of the main subjects. Kindly take theschool or the teachers advice seriously.
It becomes difficult to change subjectslater on as CBSE is becomingincreasingly strict about change ofsubjects later on.
Optional Sixth Subject
