A NEW CLASS OFPERSONAL SUBMARINE

A New Class Of Personal SubmarineDeepFlight submarines offer a truly unique underwater experience. Based on the principles of aviation, our new class of personal submarine allows you to fly underwater and explore the world’s oceans in three dimensions. Perform barrel rolls with dolphins, breach with humpback whales, hover next to beautiful coral reefs, and explore the ocean like never before.

Why a new class of submarine?

The barriers to own and operate traditional personal submarines, which use a variable ballast system to dive, are very high. Traditional submarines are heavy, complex to operate, and offer a two-dimensional, “elevator-like” experience. A specially trained, dedicated pilot is recommended to operate these subs.

Traditional submarines are designed for deep, research-focused dives and frequently incorporate large light arrays and manipulator arms. Yachts are often required to be specifically adapted to support their weight during launch and recovery.

Ushering in a new era of underwater exploration

DeepFlight has removed all of the barriers to owning and operating a personal underwater craft. Our submarines are designed specifically for the owner to pilot in total safety and comfort, whilst showing their family and guests the beauty of the unexplored oceans.

Our submarines are easy and fun to pilot without needing lengthy and complicated training, or additional dedicated personnel. At 1800 kg, they are also the smallest and lightest submarines on the market, designed to be launched and stored just like a tender.

We have designed our submarines to operate in the visible light spectrum, allowing spontaneous flights down to the edge of darkness. With 94% of the oceans being unexplored, every dive provides the opportunity to see sights no human has seen before.

Led by renowned marine engineer Graham Hawkes and backed by a seasoned team of designers and engineers, DeepFlight is making the underwater world vastly more accessible for private exploration.

DeepFlight offers two personal submarine models:

the Super Falcon Mark II and the Dragon

Key benefits

dioxide scrubber material, 3) compressed air, 4) a 120-240V AC power source and 5) ice.

• Included with each submarine sale is a comprehensive one-week integration and training package.

Launch and Recovery Dock (LRD)

With each submarine purchase, DeepFlight will provide a custom LRD that is tailored to your specific yacht or shore-based operation.

• Allows easy entry and exit while the submarine is in the water.

• Provides significant freeboard and flotation for safety.

• Designed to be towed by boat to remote reefs and other dive locations enabling guests to be shuttled back and forth using the yacht’s tender.

EnvironmentAll DeepFlight submarines are designed to be environmentally friendly.

• Powered by lithium iron phosphate batteries, which have superior chemical and thermal stability and are composed of non-toxic material.

• Insulated to minimize any noise or electric emissions, allowing greater interaction with marine life.

Easy to PilotBoth the Dragon and Super Falcon Mark II are designed for the owner to pilot with minimal training.

Our submarines incorporate the DeepFlight Dive Manager (DDM), an automated software system that enables users to pilot after just a short orientation. In addition, the DDM:

• Monitors and manages all critical functions.

• Allows maximum depths to be set for each dive.

• Ensures that the submarine does not touch the seafloor or any object such as a coral reef or ancient wreck.

DeepFlight submarines do not require a dedicated and specially trained pilot, as we believe “you don’t hand the key to your Ferrari to your chauffeur.”

Intuitive cockpit enables easy piloting

SafetyDeepFlight submarines are inherently the safest on the market and incorporate the latest technological advancements, ensuring a secure, comfortable experience:

• Fixed positive buoyancy, with no variable ballast system. Deepflight submarines don’t sink; rather they automatically float to the surface.

• Composite pressure hulls designed and proof tested beyond any commercial certification.

• Passengers are comfortably maintained at one atmosphere at all times.

• Two independent life support systems provide redundant safety.

• Both internal (passenger to passenger) and external (sub to surface) communication systems enable contact between you, your passengers and your surface crew.

Each of our submarines is tested against DeepFlight’s rigorous internal specifications for this new class of personal submarine. Certification is also offered through DNV/GL.

Lightweight and Small FootprintDeepFlight submarines are designed to be easily launched and recovered from the deck or tender garage of a superyacht.

• Both subs weigh 1800kg (3968lb).

• The Super Falcon Mark II is 5.9m (19ft 4in) in length, 2.7m (8ft 10in) in width with wings deployed, 1.4m (4ft 7in) in width with wings folded, and 1.6m (5ft 2in) in height.

• The Dragon is 5.0m (16ft 4in) in length, 1.9m (6ft 4in) in width, and 1.1m (3ft 7in) in height.

• DeepFlight submarines fit in most large yacht tender garages.

Our submarines are able to fit on more yachts than any other submarine on the market with little to no retrofit required. We have many years of experience integrating our subs onto both motor and sailing yachts.

Ease of Operation and MaintenanceOur submarines require a minimal support team and easily acquired supplies to operate and maintain.

• Existing yacht crewmembers can be cross trained for all operational support tasks.

• Annual maintenance costs average less than $15,000 USD per year.

• The required supplies to operate a DeepFlight submarine are: 1) oxygen, 2) sofnolime carbon

dioxide scrubber material, 3) compressed air, 4) a 120-240V AC power source and 5) ice.

• Included with each submarine sale is a comprehensive one-week integration and training package.

DEEPFLIGHT SUBMARINES

DeepFlight‘s Super Falcon Mark II and Dragon represent the culmination of five generations of research and development of positively buoyant submarines. The primary difference between the two submarines is the approach they use to dive.

The Super Falcon, in production since 2008, is based on a patented inverted wing design that utilizes the principles and dynamics of flight to dive. Forward thrust combined with the inverted wing structure enables the Super Falcon Mark II to fly underwater. It is the underwater equivalent of an airplane, enabling you to perform barrel rolls and loops while you glide with marine life.

The Dragon, introduced at the 2015 Monaco Yacht Show, takes underwater flight to the next level by allowing you to both fly and hover. With vertical and horizontal thrusters providing its quad-copter dynamics, you can now stop, hover and maneuver while exploring never before seen sights along the way.
