Percentages• Percentages are most commonly used in sales

for shops. For example if a top was $150 but it was 50% off it would be $75.

• Percentages can also be used when your talking about of a food package or even a netball court.

Decimals

• Decimal is the name given to one of the ways to write part of a whole. The decimal is the tiny dot separating the whole numbers and the tenths, hundredths and thousandths.

• A half in decimal form is written like this = 0.5• A quarter is written like this = 0.25

How are they are Related?

• Decimals, fractions and percentages are related in the way that they are all part of a whole.

• The only difference is the way you write them. • A decimal is written like this 0.5• A percentages would be written like this 50%• And a fraction would be written like this ½

One half of the Agnes is circled. This can be written in three different ways as a decimals, fraction and a percentage. The decimal version would look like this 0.5. the fraction version would look like this ½ . And the percentage version would look like this 50%.
