E.M.O. – Plays the Vocal Book…(Swing / Originals / Standards / Original Big Band)

Band 7.30pm – 10pm

E.M.O is Brisbane’s premier vehicle for the composition and performance of new and exciting music for big band featuring Charlotte McLean, Kayleigh Pincott and Leigh Carriage premiering a program of all new works by Brisbane composers Andrew Garton, Joshua Hatcher, Rafael Karlen, Wade Gregory, Travis Jenkins and Kayleigh Pincott.

Be sure not to miss an evening of fresh, swinging tunes – you’ll be the first to hear them.

Kayleigh presents favourite jazz standards and modern compositions with her friends Sophie Min - piano, Helen Svoboda - bass, Lachlan Hawkins - drums and special guests Tristan Rogers - trumpet, Brodie Mcallister - trombone, Matt Luff - tenor and Yori Dade - bari. Her sensitive and captivating performance style and strong sense of swing identifiess Kayleigh as one of Brisbane’s most exciting young vocalists.

Tropical Dance Orchestra(Brazillian Grooves / World Jazz)

Band 7.30pm – 10pm

Revel in the lush sound of TDO’s five-piece string section as the Tropical Dance Orchestra performs popular music from Brazil with special guest artists Kay Sullivan - accordion, Mike Bevan - seven-string guitar and carioca Eddie Gazani - vocals/guitar.

Brisbane Big Band – ‘love the sound’ Special Feature

Celebration of Sinatra(Vocal Jazz / Big Band Jazz) Band 6pm – 9pm

To mark the 100th year since his birth, the Brisbane Big Band directed by Brad Esbensen, present a special concert  featuring Paul Goode and Alan Western performing a host of those never-to-be-forgotten songs made famous by the master vocalist - Frank Sinatra.

Come along, swing along, and sing along to all those wonderful hit tunes from the Sinatra songbook. The BJC will be swinging as never before, so be there for this unique event.

Jazz Singers Jam Night (Vocal Jazz)

Music 7.00pm – 10.00pm

Ingrid James introduces all the fun and spirit of this popular night with many

special guests including some of Brisbane’s finest Jazz Vocalists. Sharing

the stage with these amazing singers will be John Reeves – piano , Jeremy

Travis Jenkins Quintet(Standards / Vocal Jazz / Originals)

Band 7.30pm – 10pm

As a skilled musician, inventive improviser and prolific composer, Travis is fast

developing a reputation as one of Brisbane’s most esteemed guitarists. Having

performed at Queensland International Jazz Festival, Broadbeach Jazz Festival,

and Queensland Music Festival launch he was recently nominated for the

2015 Freedman Jazz Fellowship. Trav’s approach to the guitar itself exudes a

more traditional pastiche of bop players such as Tal Farlow, Jim Hall and Wes

Montgomery.

Kokko Quartet – Finland(World Jazz )

Band 7.30pm – 10pm

Fresh young talent from Finland. Their music flows in sensuous and subtle

ways with recognisable Nordic sounds, influenced by Tango, Indian, Arabic and

Cuban rhythms. Intuitively, the group moves through their music with a spirit of

great freedom in their interplay.

Brisbane Contemporary Jazz Orchestra

(Modern Big Band Stylings)

Band 6pm – 9pm

BCJO makes a welcome return to the Club, performing big band music from

the 60’s to the present day. This group is recognised as one of the leading

exponents of large scale jazz music in Queensland. Featuring vocalist Ingrid

James, and Chilean percussionist Pablo Matus, BCJO will once again wow our

audience with a sophisticated blend of latin, swing and funk music.

Nick Hollamby (Swing / Vocal Jazz / Standards) Band 7.30pm – 10pm

After sell out shows at the New Zealand Jazz and Blues festival, the Nick Hollamby Quintet will present an evening of Sinatra’s most loved standards as they celebrate the icon’s 100th Birthday. With arrangements by Dave Spicer and a line up of Brisbane’s finest jazz musicians including special guests, this will be a night you don’t want to miss.

The Gingerbread Boys (Standards / Originals) Band 7.30pm – 10pm

The Gingerbread Boys are a delicious quartet with a love for blues, driving jazz tunes and spices. Drawing inspiration from musicians like Cannonball Adderley, Dexter Gordon and pastry chef extraordinaire Adriano Zumbo the Gingerbread Boys will make you smile and reflect positively upon your life.

So set your ears to gas-mark fabulous and set your table for a dough-lightfully sweet jazzy treat. Yummy!

Craig Martin Christmas Show(Big Band Stylings / Vocal Jazz) Band 7.30pm – 10pm

Don’t miss this swinging show as Craig Martin and his band take you on a magical musical journey with a beautiful reflection of the Christmas spirit. Book early as this show sold out last year.

Richard Booth Quartet(Swing / Standards / Latin / Blues) Band 6pm – 9pm

This Sydney-based multi instrumentalist has mastered all styles of music with an innate ability to engage with fellow musicians and audiences.

Richard often plays with artists such as Jimmy Barnes, Deni Hines, James Morrison, Keith Urban and Galapagos Duck, and is widely regarded as the ‘ go to guy ‘  in the Jazz, Blues and Rock scene.
