I am so glad that you are interested in getting plugged into life at DC Metro Church! I encourage you to join a Metro Group today because at DC Metro, we wholeheartedly believe that “transforma-tion happens best in the context of healthy, God-first relationships.”

There are a wide variety of incredible Groups of-fered this Fall, but I want to especially encourage you to join a Serving Team. I believe you will not only discover the joy that comes from playing a part in making church incredible for others, but I have also experienced firsthand how meaningful relation-ships are developed as you serve Jesus together. The Serving Team are located on page 5,6-8 and you can join them by attending our Connection Track. For more information, check out email [email protected].

If you are new to DC Metro, we would love for you to join us at one of our Sunday Morning service times of 9:00am, 10:45am and 12:30pm. In addi-tion, our Evening Experience on Sunday evenings offers two time options at 5:00pm and 6:45pm. Psalm 92:13 reminds us that, “Those that plant themselves in God’s House will thrive.” I am excited to see how your life thrives as you get relationally connected in His House this Fall!

The Fall 2012 publication of the Metro Groups Magazine is designed to give you an overview of the Metro Groups offered in the Fall 2012 Semester (September 17th- De-cember 16th). Metro Groups are an integral part of the DNA of DC Metro Church be-cause they are intentionally designed to help you connect with others, grow spiritually, and build authentic relationships!

If you are new to DC Metro Church or just new to Metro Groups, we especially encour-age you to try at least one Metro Group this Fall! Our Dinner Groups are one of the easiest places to start by joining others in a one-time commitment to share a meal or activity together. If you are seeking more regular connections, our Discussion Groups and Interest Groups provide other opportu-nities for more regular Christian fellowship. Discussion Groups elaborate further on the Sunday messages, while Interest Groups fo-cus on a common interest such as outreach, prayer, women’s groups, men’s groups, topi-cal studies, activity groups, and others.

It is God’s design for us to want and need to be connected, to encourage one another in our spiritual growth, and also to help one another through the trials of life. Don’t miss out on the blessings of doing life together and sign up for a Metro Group today. You can sign up online at http://www.dcmetro.org/connect/metro-groups/ or you can stop by the Information Table after service if you have any questions.

intentional about embracing and thriving in God’s beautiful and eter-nal calling on our lives. From best-selling author Priscilla Shirer, in partnership with the creators of The Love Dare, comes a study that will help us realign our daily decisions in a way that glorifies God and fulfills who He created us to be. We’re going to get into the Word, serve each other and our community, and have some serious fun in the process….all in the name of becoming “purposefully feminine, surprisingly satisfied, and faithfully His.”

Bad Girls of the BibleCarolyn M. and Jasmine W.Wednesdays (7:00pm) in Alexandria (Old Town – near USPTO)We may marvel at the “good girls” in Scripture–Sarah, Mary, Esther–but most days, that’s not who WE see when we look in the mirror. We may see selfishness of Sapphira or deception of Delilah. We may catch glimpses of Jezebel’s take-charge pride or Eve’s disastrous disobedience. So what are we to do as modern Christian women? We're to learn from their lives, and by God’s grace, choose a better path. We'll discuss biblical women and study their mistakes with lessons for today’s women.

“Prayer in action is love, and love in action is ser-vice. Try to give unconditionally whatever a person needs in the moment. The point is to do something, however small, and show you care through your ac-tions by giving your time We are all God’s children so it is important to share His gifts. Do not worry about why problems exist in the world just respond to people’s needs. We feel what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean, but that ocean would be less without that drop.“ -Mother Teresa
