Parliamentarianism is a political form of government where the government (the executive power) comes from a majority in the legislature (parliament).

Venstre (left) is the oldest political party. It was founded on January 28th 1884, and it was registered in the Register of Political Parties. Venstre is the smallest party in Parliament.

Høyre (Right) is a Norwegian conservative political party formed in 1884. The party is a member of the International Democratic Union. Right is a traditional biggest party and it is also the only party in the Norwegian Parliament which places itself on the right.
