everything you need

to know about getting the

most out of your photos,

from the day you get

engaged to the day you

say “i do.”

In order to keep the session on schedule & get the most out of your time in

front of the camera, there is a limit of two locations per session.

choosing a location:

add more personality to your photos by choosing the location of your add more personality to your photos by choosing the location of your

engagement session. i love when a couple suggests having their photos

taken in a spot that is sentimental to them, as it makes everyone more

relaxed and allows them to focus on each other throughout the shoot. is

there a spot that you went to for your first date? a cute local coffee

shop, park or landmark you frequently visit?

if you need suggestions, i am here to help. whether you have pictured if you need suggestions, i am here to help. whether you have pictured

the serenity of a park or field, or maybe a city skyline with tall buildings

as a backdrop for your photos, i have plenty of recommendations.

natural, artistic, romantic

engagement sessions

wardrobe 101:

wear whatever you feel comfortable in, but feel free to wear something slightly more bold

than usual. however, if you’re the type that gravitates toward classic simplicity, that’s ok

as well. my goal is to capture you as the best version of yourself, so don’t be afraid to

branch out from the norm. (limit 2-3 outfits per session.)

what to bring:

if you want to bring a favorite book, heirloom, or other meaningful props, this is a great

way to make your session totally unique.

scheduling:scheduling:

all sessions are scheduled two hours before sunset or after sunrise in order to capture the

day’s most beautiful, natural lighting.

Happiness is

by you

i love to travel. If you have a unique vision for your photos that requires

travel please contact me for details on traveling sessions.

setting the tone:

finding the right location for your bridal session doesn’t

have to be difficult. when thinking about your bridal session,

here are some things to consider:

do you want your bridal photos to be cohesive with your wedding photos? if do you want your bridal photos to be cohesive with your wedding photos? if

so, then your wedding venue is a great option. most wedding venues allow a

1-2 hour bridal session during the week.

do you want to go for a completely different look than your wedding day do you want to go for a completely different look than your wedding day

photos? if so, then there are so many amazing places you can do your

bridal session at. if you’re having an outdoor or garden wedding, then

maybe you would want to incorporate a modern or urban feel to your

photos by staying in the city. if you like more of a natural setting, we can

always find a local park or venture outside the city for your session.

modern, elegant, ethereal

BRIDAL sessions

what to bring:

in addition to your dress, here in addition to your dress, here are some items you may want to include: veil, bouquet, hair pieces, jewelry, shoes and cold weather accessories if needed. I also recommend bringing a wardrobe assistant to help you stay looking your best throughout stay looking your best throughout the session (friend, mother,

sister).

scheduling:

the earlier you the schedule your session, the more dates there are available. the best time for bridal sessions is during the week, monday - friday. most brides plan to have their sessions right when they receive their dress from their final fittings, dress from their final fittings, about two - three months before their wedding. bridal sessions are scheduled two hours before sunset or within sunrise to allow for the most beautiful natural

sunlight possible.

“Danielle is not just a photographer

but a storyteller. She somehow

brings the unusual, beautiful and

humorous all together at once.

Her ease, vision and artful delivery Her ease, vision and artful delivery

is what makes her stand out from

the competition. By capturing

organic moments juxtaposed with

the artful modern backdrops at the

Hotel Bel Air is how she created and

delivered our story in pictures. Our

memories are 'brightly colored' memories are 'brightly colored'

because of her.”

TIP: include must-have detail photos on the wedding timeline before

sending it to me. I love capturing the most sentimental special

touches in your wedding design.

wedding day tips:

gather all your details before the day starts so i can photograph them

quickly. this makes the getting-ready portion of the day go by much

more smoothly, and it allows me to spend more time focusing on the

spontaneous moments when everyone is together. this list is mainly for

the ladies, but same advice goes for the groomsmen.

here are a few ideas: ring, jewelry, hair pieces, flowers, shoes, socks, cuff here are a few ideas: ring, jewelry, hair pieces, flowers, shoes, socks, cuff

links, socks, letters, pictures, gifts, cultural items, invitations, programs,

printed pieces, and any unique items you’ve put thought into.

your wedding day

the best time to do these formal family portraits is typically right after the ceremo-

ny. this time can be extra chaotic if family members and friends are not all in the

same place. appoint someone to help with family formals after the ceremony.

family photos + group shots

along with the candid and natural portraits taken throughout the day, most couples

like to also include formal portraits with family & friends. these are a great

reminder of the beautiful people who surrounded you on your wedding day.

portraits

crowd management:

it helps to have a designated person (wedding coordinator or friend) who can proactively

gather the groups so i can focus on creating beautiful photos. usually this person knows the

groups pretty well, has a loud voice and assertive personality, and they can manage a

crowd with ease. sometimes it helps if there is one person for each side of the family.

more recommendations:

be prepared. your wedding coordinator or appointed friend should have the list of family be prepared. your wedding coordinator or appointed friend should have the list of family

members you want photographed and this person should be gathering these groups either

with an extra loud voice or a handheld microphone.

time is of the essence. keep your list of groups short. please note that each group shot can

take 2-3 minutes. we would all love to have photos with every important person at the

wedding, but less is more in this type of situation. it is better to have a few photos of large

groups than many photos of smaller groups.

relax and enjoy. when you make preparations for a smooth family portrait session, you are relax and enjoy. when you make preparations for a smooth family portrait session, you are

destined for fun and relaxing wedding day. keeping family portrait time short and sweet

also allows more time for fun and creative wedding party photos, as well as romantic bride

& groom portraits with beautiful golden hour lighting!

and family come

together as one.

planning out a timeline:

plan ahead. create your wedding

timeline several weeks before the

wedding, and have your wedding

coordinator send it over at least

two weeks in advance.

consider doing consider doing

a “first-look”

it used to be considered taboo, but it used to be considered taboo, but

seeing each other before the

ceremony allows you to get extra

photos in while there is still

daylight. it also helps to calm

nerves and gets your reception

started on time, as guests won’t

have to wait long for the bride and have to wait long for the bride and

groom to finish their portraits

after the wedding.

while this is not required, it is

recommended for a relaxing day.

love is all you need.

the need

it may not seem relevant in the digital age, but an album is a timeless treasure to share with your children

and grandchildren for years to come. it is entirely different to see, touch, and flip through pages filled with

hand-picked images from your wedding day. you can include your wedding, engagement session, bridal

session, and day-after session in your album. this is a great way to entertain guests in your new home as

well, and albums also make excellent gifts for parents and grandparents.

the process:the process:

designing your album is really easy. to keep the process as smooth as possible, i’ll ask you to choose your

favorite images (I may add in a few of my favorites as well) that best tell the story of your wedding. from

there, i’ll design your spreads and send the mockups to you via digital download for proofing and editing.

from there, you will have the chance to make changes to the design proofs. i will then complete the design

and then send over the final proof.
