Ricerca scientifica

Ha svolto ricerca in due settori disciplinari:

i) economia e politica della scienza, tecnologia e innovazione;

ii) teoria politica delle relazioni internazionali.

In entrambi i settori, ha estensivamente pubblicato monografie, volumi collettanei e articoli

scientifici su riviste accademiche. Le sue pubblicazioni sono frequentemente citate nella letteratura

accademica ed è il dipendente del CNR più frequentemente citato nelle scienze sociali. Alcuni suoi

temi di ricerca, quali ad esempio la “tassonomia sulla globalizzazione della tecnologia”, la

“specializzazione tecnologica”, la “diversificazione innovativa”, la “democrazia cosmopolitica”, il

“dividendo democratico” e le “categorie dell’auto-determinazione dei popoli” sono entrati nella

letteratura e riportati in manuali ed enciclopedie. Nell’ambito dell’economia e politica della scienza,

Management della ricerca

esperti comunitari. E’ frequentemente consulente di governi nazionali, della Commissione Europea

e delle Nazioni Unite.

Dal Novembre 1997 al febbraio 2002, è stato Commissario dell’istituenda Autorità per i servizi

pubblici locali del Comune di Roma, eletto a larga maggioranza dal Consiglio Comunale capitolino.
