Within the review the poster for the film is the first picture we see, this film poster highlights to the audience that something has gone wrong ,this is shown

by the use of the title everything will be okay within the text images are used which can relate to the main character. This is further heightened by the use of

other pictures showing desperation of the two characters. The use of the title on the film poster links to the drama genre as it is relating to issues that

people feel throughout there life in which the audience can use to escape. By using a mid shot of the two characters this heightens the separation of the two

characters, by the use of the dark gloomy colours on the fist people it could highlight the fact that she is alone contrasting with the use of the red coat which

is used to connote danger. By then showing the image of what we understand as her parent or guardian reveals the despair he is in to find his daughter this

is shown by the mid close up of his face in which is used to show a worry. Mise en scene is used to reinforce this idea, the use of the mise en scene

surrounding the man gives the impression that a lot is going on this is shown by the use the stripes in the background. Within the film poster title, clips of

pictures have been used this is almost used to represent the character feeling trapped or hidden as there is not much being revealed. This could relate to the

drama genre as it highlight an issue and problem which could be linked to the character linking to the drama genre. The white surrounding background in

the film poster creates a positive image ,as white is usually used to show purity. This also makes the film poster look professional and enhances the use of

the block capital font. In which reinforces what the texts says.

Layout: The film poster has been structured into paragraph sections in order for it to be easily read by the audience. By using headings above the paragraphs this enables the

audience to find a particular part they intend to read . The use of the headings also informs the audience what sections are in the review making it pleasing to the eye and easy to

follow. The use of the images in the text help to reinforce what the review is saying making it easier for the audience to see where the points are coming from. For example the

picture of the girl reinforces the idea of camera work and both pictures help to heighten the daughter and father relationship which is seen through the film. The pictures are

also set in a naturalistic setting in which heightens the drama genre. The layout of the review helps to pin point certain aspects as the headings can focus on specific points .The

use of the overall scores at the end help to show the audience what they think is good creating a detailed review. This also attracts an audience if they are thinking about

watching a film.

Language and register:

One main part we see throughout the film review is the use of technical jargon however it is used to an extent that others can understand. This is used on every

subheading .Technical jargon is used as it can be understood by other audiences but it creates a knowledgeable effect for people that are interested within the

filming field.

This is the first piece of text we see promoting the film in which gives the audience an insight into how well the short film has

done. ‘among nine film shortlisted for the Oscars’ This creates an impression to the audience that the film will be well put

together attracting the audience.

Within the first section this is heightened further emphasising the films success.

The use of the word nuanced shows the audience that the actress suits her character well in which

creates a positive effect showing that the acting within the film is going to be immense. This is

further heightened by the use of the word embodies , enhancing the fact that there is no difference

between the characters. Font is used in order to enhance how good the character is.

An idiom phrase is used in order to suggest that the film is down to heart and focuses on a positive relationship

between father and daughter. By using the idiom phrase it enables the audience to relate to what the reviewer

is saying. This can relate to the drama genre as it will want to connect as many people to the film as possible.

This can further link to the utopian theory as audiences like to see a perfect life.

Rhetorical questions are used in order to emphasise the connection the actors create in order to

show the love between the characters in which can imply a seamless performance. It can also help

to heighten the concerns with being a parent and the type of worries that comes along with it, in

which can be relatable to a wide audience. In which is suitable for a wide genre. The idea is formed

from ‘how can you tell you're a good parent’

Finally the film review scores sections within the film in which can give reassurance and certainty to the audience. Overall the film

review analyses the film well and gives the audience an insight into the focus of the film showing what it does well.
