Swing-Open TailgateThe swing-opentailgate permitsunmatched engineserviceability. It’smade of die-formedquarter-inch steel,which eliminates theneed for the cast counterweights foundon competitive excavators. The tailgatelatch is hidden, and opens with a leverlocated in the operator area. The upperstructure of the excavator is also madeof quarter-inch steel for superior strengthin all applications.

Right-Side Access CoverThe fuel fill, controlvalve and associatedplumbing are quicklyaccessed by a tip-forward cover that

locks open in two positions. The firstposition is for fuel filling and routine dailymaintenance. By removing a stop, thecover can be opened further for evengreater access to hydraulic components.

Two-Speed Function OnBlade Lever

The two-speedactivation functionhas been movedto the backfill bladehandle. Pressingthe two-speedbutton puts the

machine in high range; pressing it againshifts the travel circuit back to low range.This eliminates the need for the operatorto “hold” the two-speed in high range.A light on the console indicates whenthe travel circuit is in high.

Auxiliary Function ControlLocated on theright-hand joystick,this system givesyou fingertip controlof auxiliary hydraulicfunctions. No otherexcavator brandoffers a variable

flow auxiliary system on the joystick.The system also features the capabilityof detented flow in both directions.

Instrumentation, Electronicsand ShutdownNew instrumenta-tion includes sweepgauges for enginetemperature andfuel level, amber-lighted iconsindicating various machine functions, andseveral red warning icons. There is also adigital readout for engine hours, jobhours, and engine rpm. A switch on theinstrument panel allows the operator totoggle between these modes.

If engine coolant temperature, engine oilpressure or hydraulic oil temperature reachthe critical level, the monitoring systemwill shut the excavator down to lessenthe chance of damage to the machine.

Control Pattern SelectionThis feature allowsthe operator toquickly switchbetween ISO andStandard controlpatterns. Theselection lever is located in the operator’sarea for convenient access.

Work LightsThe standardlighting packageincludes bothboom-mountedand frame-mounted adjust-able lights. Theframe-mountedunit is locatedon the left frontcorner of themachine. Ifadditional lighting

is required, cab-mounted lights areavailable as accessories.

Training ResourcesOperator and service training kits areavailable from your Bobcat excavatordealer. These comprehensive programsuse video, manuals and hands-onoperation. A Spanish-language versionis also available.

Two-Piece PedalsTravel and boomoffset functionsare controlled bytwo-piece foldingpedals. When thesefunctions aren’tneeded, the rear portion of the pedalscan be folded forward and the offsetpedal can be locked stationary. Thisallows the operator to use it as a footrest,as well as opening up more floor areafor foot placement.

The angle of the pedals has also beenoptimized for more comfortable operation.

Centralized GreasingFor ease of servicing,grease zerks for theswing pinion, swingbearing and offsetcylinder are in acentralized location on the right frontcorner of the excavator.

Control Console LockoutRaising the leftconsole locks outthe joystick andtraction functions.A light on the consoleindicates when the

lockout system is off (controls active).

Cab OptionAn optional cabis equipped withheating, ventilatonand air conditioningsystems. Thesuper-efficient cabheater lets you workin comfort evenduring the coldestwinter months. Inhot weather, Bobcatair conditioning is capable of a significanttemperature differential to keep you onthe job all day without breaking a sweat.
