Beta Club The Dundee-Crown Beta Club is accepting new

members and membership renewals until Sept. 30th. If you were a member last year you MUST renew your

membership. Be sure to attend the first general Beta Club meeting

on Thursday, Sept. 9th to pick up your application and to hear about the exciting plans for this year.

The meeting will be in the Annex at 7am and repeated at 3pm.

Completed applications should be returned to Ms. Gard or Mrs. DiCosola in the Counseling Department.

How to log on to Student Portal Go to the quick link on the Dundee-Crown website.

Type in your User Name which is your Student Number (Student ID). This number can be found on your schedule and your student ID card.          

The default password is <first name initial> <last name initial> <birthdate MMDDYY> format (i.e., John Smith’s default student account password would be js091985, if birth date was September 19, 1985).

Use Student Portal to check grades, view class schedules, and more!

Elgin Community College classes! If you are a senior in the top 10% of your class or

have a 3.25 GPA, you can apply to go to ECC second semester. 

You can select any of these three Gen Ed courses:  Introduction to Psychology, Introduction to Sociology and Western Humanities.

Tuition is paid by District 300 so all you have to pay for is your book. 

If you are interested make an appointment to see your counselor and get further information.

Freshman Student Council Freshman interested in Student Council

should attend a meeting on Tuesday, September 20 at 7:10 a.m. in room 242. Information for class elections will be distributed. If unable to attend please see Mrs. Velantini in the Dean's office for the required forms.

‘Take Charge!’ Tutoring After-school tutoring Monday through

Thursday from 3:15-4:15. Sign up in the media center at the

designated computers for tutoring and the activity bus.

Seniors! College! Representatives from the Illinois Student

Assistance Commission will be here on Thursdays during CUP and Lunch periods to help you with the college admissions process. They will be located in the college and career center in the counseling office and will have laptops available if you would like to work on completing your online applications.

Teen Parent Program The Teen Parent Program Group will

meet during CUP in room M4 on Thursdays. All pregnant and parenting students are welcome and encouraged to join us each week for this informal support group. Any questions please contact Alison or Sonja at 224-484-2308 or 2307.

Attention sophomores and juniors:Want scholarships??? The PSAT/NMSQT is the qualifying test for National

Merit Scholarship Corporation’s scholarship and recognition programs.

The PSAT will take place on October 13 at D-C.  Registration is open from Sept 7-Oct 6 and costs

$25.  Please register with Mrs. Bober in the guidance office.  If you have any questions, please see your counselor.

Congrats- sophomore football

Congrats to the sophomore football team on their 14-12 victory Thursday night. The Chargers were lead by a stout defense and two Garrett Ryan to Trent Muscat touchdown passes that cauterized the Grayslake defense.

Beta Club Members!! There are many volunteer opportunities available to

those of you who have turned in your applications and dues. Check with Ms. Gard in Counseling to sign up. Opportunities include helping at Parkview Elementary on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-4:30, helping at Freshman Parent Night Sept. 22nd, Swim Meet Timers are needed on various dates in Sept. and Oct. and many more. See Ms. Gard for details.

Prom Committee The D-C HS Prom Committee is looking for

Six Flags Fright Fest PACT will be selling Six Flags Fright Fest tickets at various

school functions and during specific school lunches. Tickets are good for either Saturday, October 2 or Sunday,

October 3. The price per ticket is $25, which is more than half price of

a regular ticket ($56.99 + tax). Look for PACT at various school functions, or go on the

After-Hours Night School The After-Hours Night School is currently

accepting enrollments for Term 2 classes. Space is limited. Early classes meet from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and a late schedule of classes meet from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Independent Study Deadline Attention juniors and seniors:

In order to make sure that Independent Study Proposals are processed in time to make class changes BEFORE the start of Term 2, there is a new deadline for all Term 2 Independent Study requests.

The new deadline is October 1: this means that students must submit their independent study proposal for Term 2 (signed by both student and parent) to their counselor no later than 3:00 pm on October 1.

Only Juniors and Seniors are eligible for Independent Study.

The Independent Study Request Form is available on the Dundee-Crown website on the Counseling Department page.

ECC Tech Prep and Middle College students You will need to leave class early in order to arrive on

time for your classes in Elgin on late arrival days. ECC Tech Prep students should leave class at 11:45

a.m. and Middle College students should leave at 1:15 p.m.

All ECC students will need to show their ECC sticker on the back of their Ids to their teacher in order to leave early. See Mrs. Gavigan in the College and Career Center if you have any questions.
