COVER STORY

>>> This month’s great cover photo was taken by David Mancini at theFairfield County Concours D’Elegance.

“Reflecting back on this picture brings a smile to my face. This photo wastaken at the Fairfield County ConcoursD’Elegance while strolling through thepark-like setting and the myriad ofbeautiful cars on an absolutely gorgeousday with my wife and great friends. The ride up through the winding backroads, a caravan of two Porsches... and a Ferrari, only heightened theanticipation of what was to come. We were not disappointed! Does it get any better?”

SAN INVITATION

Soon after New Year’s Day the CVR

Board will gather for the annual

planning meeting and you are invited

to join us. All CVR members are wel-come and we invite your participationduring the discussions. Just let meknow that you are coming so we haveenough space. A light breakfast is in-cluded. Check cvrpca.org for the dateand location.

Each activity chair will present adetailed plan for the coming year in-cluding a budget. The board will reviewthe ideas put forth and comment upon

the programs. And the treasurer willquestion every budget to assure that itmeets our breakeven philosophy forthose programs that produce revenue.

Those members who have joined usfor past planning meetings have ex-pressed how much they learned aboutCVR and several have become activevolunteers (you’ve been warned!).Please join us.

Zone 1 item

During November I will have attendedthe Zone 1 Presidents’ Conference nearAlbany representing the ConnecticutValley Region. In case you aren’t aware, all the regions are part of a zone and thezones make up PCA. The zones providesupport to the regions and are represen-tatives to PCA reflecting the ideas oftheir regions.

I have found the gatherings to be veryuseful for practical advice regarding run-ning the region and especially helpfulfor keeping us out of trouble. PCA sendsnational advisors for financial and legalmatters. They cover the recent problemsthat PCA has encountered and make rec-ommendations to help us avoid them.

With almost 2000 members andmany driving activities on the road andtrack, CVR is exposed to risks that mayresult in a major liability. Recent meet-ings have highlighted the need for anup–to-date, complete set of bylaws. CVRis currently reviewing ours and will pro-duce a solid document soon.

In a future column I’ll let you knowwhat the current topics are.

Happy Holidays and Happy NewYear. I’ll see you, in your Porsche, onthe road. Flash your lights.

IIt has been a tumultuous year. It wasliterally the best of times and the not-best (not “worst”, happily) of times. But I opened the year on high hopes, and am closing it on high hopes as well.

I wanted to make this year a lot offun and I think we largely succeeded. We had amazing professional coachingavailable at Watkins Glen for instruc-tors and black rungroup drivers. We attempted to have a skid pad availablefor everyone to play with atLime Rock. (The skid pad ultimately was cancelled butwill reappear in the Spring.) Also at Lime Rock we evengot an extra hour driving un-til 6 (actually, this happenedtwice, considering we used arain check, see below). Atboth Monticello and WatkinsGlen we combined black andred run groups so black drivers could experience extended passing. I believenone of those was ever donebefore. There were track walks (or trackdrives) most everywhere thanks to RickCanter – plus we had a track jog cour-tesy of Patrick Kosci. We are workingon a narrated photo essay of how-to-drive all our tracks, and we had a veryentertaining Winter Workshop address.Of course, at Watkins, Susan and DaveVaccaro ran two wonderful dinners withCVR door prizes (in addition to Susan’sendless work as Registrar).

We held two great events at Mon-ticello only to learn they decided never,

ever to rent the track to outside clubs. So I very much hope you got a chanceto drive there, since you may not beable to do so again and learning thattrack is a hoot. Lime Rock and WatkinsGlen had their moments: in Lakeville(sorry) we had a couple of very sig-nificant rain storms (I wish I had gottenphotos of the pond across the left-hander and the river traversing theesses), we held an event where semi

trailers invaded paddock Ato unload, and then we heldanother event without anyaccess to paddock A at all! Also, we drove WatkinsGlen with only the front halfand the left half of the backhalf (read it again, slowly)of the front straight avail-able to cars. Plus we hadsome godawful hot weathereverywhere.

We added dates through-out the year and ultimatelymanaged to hold seventeen

events over twenty-two days. Thatmight be a Club record; I am unsure. There were fourteen days at Lime Rock.Four days at Watkins Glen. Four daysat Monticello. Plus the Race Committeewrangled an “unmuffled” Club Race –which got us an unmuffled DE. Threeof our Lime Rock days were reservedfor green and yellow drivers, and threedays were reserved for white and blackdrivers, plus an additional two duringthe Club Race. Those numbers might

We added datesthroughout the

year andultimatelymanaged to

hold seventeenevents overtwenty-twodays. That might be a

Club record...

make a Club record as well. And Tasteof the Track took off this year. ReeseMason and Rick Hosley made us anamazing banner for their trailer andhosted passengers at nearly everyevent.

Still, attendance was down morethan 10 percent. We love what we dobut the economy has taken a toll onour participation, which naturally affected our bottom line. Even so,more than seventy five people were

promoted to yellow, white or black. And we made ten new instructors withanother half dozen in the pipeline. Thisprogression is pretty much thelifeblood of our hobby, and I amthrilled to see it happen.

You now have a new VP ofDriver’s Education, Jon Fairbanks.Jon, as you well-know, held that posi-tion before me and is again going todo a wonderful job with all the existingand new members of the DE commit-tee. On behalf of the DE committee, Iwant to thank outgoing Chief Instruc-tor Cecil Ursprung for all his yeomanefforts these last three years. Cecil hasworked tirelessly with the instructorsand our students to make sure our DEprogram was as good as it could be.

With Cecil retired, we now have a newChief Instructor in Francis Florido. And outside of the DE committee Ifully expect John Schnabel and RickCanter will continue their care of thebeginning and advanced drivers, FredStaudinger will continue to nurture theinstructors, Susan will continue asRegistrar, and Dan Jacobs will con-tinue as Safety Chair. I wish them allthe best.

I hope you enjoyed yourselves asmuch as I did. I was honored to be ableto work with a dedicated group of in-dividuals who are equally passionateabout their hobby and about “givingback” to the Club. As for me, I washappy just to be able to provide whatlittle assistance I could to this extraordinary group. It really is“about the people”.

We all had a safe, exciting andchallenging year. I expect CVR willdo it all again in 2011. We have a terrific schedule developing and greatconfidence of doing just that.

So go have some fun. (Come joinRebecca and me in Sebring!) And Ihope to be able to see you all at thetrack in the Spring.

I wish you all a healthy, happy andprosperous New Year. It has been aprivilege.

Very best, Larry

HHaving never attended a ConnecticutValley Region Photofest before I wasnot really quite sure what to expect, but I’m pleased to say that it exceededany expectations that I had. A greatturnout, lots of excellent member pho-tography on display, and Connecticut

Magazines’—“Best Pancakes in CT”breakfast served up by our friendGeorge Chatzopoulos, owner of Chip’sFamily Restaurant in Orange, CT. Allin all I found it to be a very interestingand enjoyable morning at The TrailerDepot in Northford. If you were notable to make it, have no fear, as youwill definitely be seeing some of theaward winning member photographyon a number of upcoming Challenge

covers in the near future.

With the holidays rapidly approach-ing and the “driving season” drawingto a close our activities chairs take amuch needed rest from the flurry ofclub activities that preceed the monthof December. It will be quiet for thenext few weeks while we all spendsome time with our families and there

are no CVR events or activitiesplanned, but then we start right backup again in January.

The first event of the new year is ourmonthly CVR club meeting, back bypopular demand at the Black HorseGarage in Bridgeport. John Buonannoand his team of specialists have an exciting evening planned for our CVRmembers. If you are interested in attending, please mark your calendarand RSVP soon as this is always a verypopular event.

This is the second issue of The

Challenge that we have Designed andEdited, and we are very pleased withthe response that we received fromCVR members to the re-formatted November issue. We hope that every-one enjoyed reading it as much as weenjoyed putting it together.

This month one of several featurearticles in The Challenge centers aroundtwo of our members who have beenkind enough to share their experiencesat the Nikon Motorsports PhotographyWorkshop at Lime Rock Park. If youhave ever thought about improving yourown automotive photography skills readall about their Labor Day weekend atthe Lime Rock Historic Races begin-ning on page 34.

Our best wishes to all of you forthe sweetest of holidays and a Happyand Healthy New Year!

DDid you know that you can experiencea 20 minute track session at a worldclass race track without entering your-self and your car in a Club Race or Driver's Education event? It's true! Youcan feel the rush of speed and corneringin the passenger seat of a track-preparedPorsche with a certified CVR Instructorat any CVR Driver's Education event(and also at Autocross events). You needonly be 18 years old, wear long pantsand closed toe shoes and be willing topart with $40 (a genuine bargain giventhat you'd have to pay over $100 to gofor a three lap, five minute ride in aclunky old stock car turning only lefton an oval track – you do the math!).We will even supply the helmet.

Come see for yourself how aPorsche was meant to be driven. Finda future date on the calendar at the

club website (cvrpca.org) and go seeRic or Reese at the Taste of the Trackhauler. If you hang around at lunchtime, you may even get Ric (aka TheBoss of the Sauce).

Members circulatedthrough the impressiveselection of new and pre-owned Porsches outin their lot, then headedinto the showroom to bewelcomed by Hoffman’stalented team and downinto their large servicearea where our meetingwas being held.

Row after row ofchairs awaited, as well asa fantastic buffet Hoffmanprovided for us. (I for one“hit” the buffet line morethan once!) When I wasfinished I found myselfwandering from one service bay to the otheradmiring the underpin-nings of one car after another while surrounded

by some of the Stuttgart’sfinest components await-ing their new “homes”.From crates housing complete engines to

limited edition body parts, there was something ofinterest everywhere Iturned. While I love thecomplete assembled finalproduct I must admit tohaving a “thing” for theparts & components that

make them up. Over in the right corner of theservice department, CVR’sEmporium set up shopand from the number ofmembers crowded intothat area, the Emporium’snew items are provingvery popular. If youhaven’t attended amonthly meeting in awhile, it would be worththe trip just to check out the expanded Emporium’s line-up (a “tip of the hat” to the Shafer’s for all their efforts).

The meeting wascalled to order when I introduced our club president, Jeff Jones. Jeff welcomed everyoneand thanked our hosts atHoffman Porsche for theirlong history of support forCVR. We welcomed newmembers Rick, Ray and

Frank Zawacki wasour lucky Septemberbirthday gift certificatewinner and then Jeff an-nounced 2010’s Photofestand awards presentationthat would again be heldat a pancake breakfasthosted by The Trailer

The ever-expanding“Mart” portion of ourmeetings included; 18''Fiske wheels, Twin Turboseats, a Boxster and muchmore. (I would be remiss ifI didn’t mention Hoffman’sJosh Dworman’s an-

Jeff informed us that because of Bo Parker’syeoman efforts, our 50thAnniversary Yearbook ison its way shortly. Ithanked Jeff and then weall offered a standing ova-tion to my teammate MikeOdierna for all he’s done(and is still doing) for CVR!

I mentioned howpleased your programstaff was to be able to announce Murray Smithas our speaker for October’s monthly meet-ing at Fairfield Motorsport.Introducing Lime RockHistorics’ Fred Jacksonwas a pleasure, and he informed all in attendanceabout the recently-com-pleted Historics. He especially thanked CVR for our involvement in theevent and stressed how

key our relationship is tothe Historics. In particular, he let us know of our ownDennis Primavera’s“above and beyond thecall of duty” contributionsto the event. He also generously provided Rolexhats to add to our upcom-ing raffle... more on thatlater. I called up CVR’sWalt Hyjek to describe his“Activities Video Project”,where he has been assembling clips of all ourevents; Autocross, Rally,Tour, Concours, Driver’sEducation and Club Race,

which will be shown during upcoming monthlymeetings… another greatreason to RSVP and joinus at a monthly meetingcoming soon near you. Thanks Walt! After whet-ting everyone’s appetiteby describing venues and activities coming in 2011,I opened everyone’s second favorite part of

Item after item was gratefullyreceived by CVR members(except by... yours truly...again!). I couldn’t help butnotice how Mike O. really got into “the swingof things” as he handedout prize after prize!

I closed what hadbeen an entertainingmeeting by asking our

Two CVR Members, John Karamand Chris Troianello, attended the NikonPhoto Workshop at Lime Rock and sharetheir experience with us.

Labor Day weekendwas busy for me thisyear. My wife and I returned on Saturday,September 4th from our vacation in rural Pennsylvania. It was so rural that where westayed, we had very limited cell phone signal.Internet use was almostnon-existent. The resortwe were at had accessbut, you had to drive sixand a half miles to get toit. This made for a lot ofquiet time and relaxation.I spent a lot of my timegetting caught up on

reading, both magazinesand books.

Sunday, the day afterwe returned, was a day ofrest and unpacking for us.Monday, Labor Day, was adifferent story. I hadsigned up to take the firstever Lime Rock/NikonRacing PhotographyWorkshop. It was sched-uled for 8:00 am to 8 pm.

To arrive in time I gotup at 4:20 am and wasout the door a little after5:00 am. Part of the reason for my early departure is that if thereis a problem at work, itwould most likely happen

between 5:30 am and7:00 am. So I need tomake sure I am on the

road and unreachable before 5:30 am!

I arrived at Lime Rockat 7:30 am and checkedin. I was one of the first to arrive and met the

instructors for the workshop. Rick Dole,George Tiedemann, andRobert Laberge are professional photogra-phers all working insports photography. And, of course, all of themhave an extensive back-ground in photographingmotorsports as well.

The day started withRenea Topp, Director ofMarketing, of Lime RockPark issuing us hard-cardmedia credentials for theday and the photogra-pher’s vests to allow usaccess to trackside. Wethen listened to Rick introduce each memberof the team includingthree people from Nikonwho could issue us almost any piece ofequipment we could want to try.

As a last step beforeheading out to the trackto take photos, they eachshowed us a slide showof their material to give usan idea of what they havedone as well as hopefullyinspire us as to some newthings we could do.

As I am in the marketfor a new telephoto zoom,I decided to give theNikon 70-200mm f2.8

>>> Here is an establishing shot. It clearly shows peoplewatching a race at Lime Rock Park.

>>> This also shows the compression of a long telephotoand the gradual loss of focus of each car.

>>> Shows the compression of a long telephoto. The trickis to get the first car perfectly in focus and let the depth of field of the lens allow those behind it to go graduallyout of focus.

AF-S lens a try. This is thelatest, just released model with VRII, Nikon’svibration reduction mechanism. The autofo-cus motor on it is superquick and very accurate.Unfortunately, my old 70-300mm f4.5-5.6 isslow and inaccurate on

autofocus. This leads tomany shots that have the wrong car in focus or something in front of or behind the subject infocus instead of the subject itself.

Armed with my newweapon of choice mountedon my Nikon D300,

I followed our instructor,Rick Dole for the first halfof the day, out to thetrack. Our first stop wasalong the wall on the outside of Big Bend. To getthere we had to cross thetrack, which we did in between races.

PANNING>>> Panning a long lensat a slow shutter speed is very difficult. Therecommendation is tocalculate the shutterspeed based on the lengthof the lens. This wastaken with a 300 mm lens. That suggests a shutterspeed of 1/300th of asecond. VR (VibrationReduction) provides thecapability of going evenslower but you need to bevery smooth when you do.This was shot at 1/100thsecond and you can seesome blurring of thedecals on the car.

>>> This also shows panning but the car is now very sharply focused to the point wherethe person’s name can be read on the car. Shutter speed was 1/320th of a second. Also notethat the car was placed at the top of the photograph to eliminate the unsightly backgroundof metal posts that would otherwise ruin a good photo.

Here we were able toset up and shoot down the track to capture thestart of the race when the cars are packedclosely together. With along telephoto on thecamera, the perception is they are even moretightly packed.

I had the chance to usethe 70-200 mm lens aswell as a huge, 500 mmmounted on a D3s. Thesepieces are all part ofNikon’s professionalequipment line up and twoof them cost more than I paid for my 944! Unfortu-nately, the huge lens andD3s didn’t work for me. Ihad difficulty getting usedto them. I did get to tryanother D3 camera whichis an earlier version of theD3s with another monsterlens on it, possibly a 600mm unit, and found thatafter a little time I couldget used to it. I wasn’t super happy with what I was getting in that location and with thatequipment but I found theexperience of using it veryhelpful for the future.

The next exercise wedid was to go to the out-field and shoot some “establishing shots” toshow where we were and

LIGHT & SHADOW

give an overall perspectiveto the event. Rememberthat your photos aremeant to tell a story so ithelps to have some thatprovide an open perspec-tive of where you are.

Rick made some sug-gestions and I tried to takea few shots that wouldrepresent each of theideas he gave us. He alsotold us to keep in mind thesun’s position and how itwould affect the shots wewould be taking. As thecars would now be backlit in this location, wewould need to increasethe exposure to correct forthe shadows that wouldbe on the cars as they

came down the straight. Here was one of the

most important pieces ofinformation I learned that

day. I learned how a pro-fessional photographer

thinks. He sees the lighting that he has andfigures out how to correctfor it. While I could seethe lighting differences aswell, I didn’t always thinkabout what the solution to the problem would be. I left it to the camera andhoped that I could fixsomething wrong in theworkflow. These guyslook for the solution rightthen and there. It defi-nitely made me moreaware of light and shadows for the rest ofthe day, and hopefullyfrom now on as well.

We shot from one ortwo other spots in the

morning and then brokefor lunch. During lunch weuploaded our images toour laptops, rechargedour batteries, and ate awonderful buffet lunchprovided for us. We alsohad an opportunity tohave our images critiquedby our instructor. I watched the instructorsgo through the photos ofa number of us andlearned a lot about whatthey liked to see.

For the afternoon session I was in a groupled by Robert Laberge. We made our way to theoutside of the track nearthe uphill turn. We wouldshoot from both above andbelow the uphill and makeuse of the different lightingand shadows that the suncast on the track. For theafternoon I had signed outa D300s body on which Iput the 70-200mm lens. I then put my 18-135mmlens on my body so I couldshoot long or wide. Thiswas very effective at thestation near West Bend asI could shoot down thetrack with the long lens onthe loaner body and thenswitch to my camera andthe wider lens to get thecar going through WestBend to the downhill.

Robert took us to someplaces along the track thatI didn’t know existed. Oneof them involved walkingalong a wall about fifteenfeet off the ground andhaving to crouch down togo back and forth under afence until we reached ourdestination. From here wehad a great view down NoName Straight as well as a good view of vehicles

cresting the top of the hill. What made it interestingwas that the track was inheavy shadow. The brightsky at the top of the uphillprovided a silhouette ofthe vehicle as it crestedthe uphill turn. Very nice!

From there we went tothe downhill and tooksome photos of the viewfrom the top of the down-hill right after the carspassed under the bridge

as well as the cars as theypassed the apex of theturn onto the front straight.Lime Rock has cleared alot of the trees that were inthe way here and I mademy way down a path thattook me near the bottomof the downhill. From hereI could frame the cars be-tween trees or brancheshanging down as theypassed the apex of theturn. Great stuff!

After we wrappedshooting for the day, wesadly had to return all the equipment we hadborrowed. We had anothersession of loading photosto laptops and then show-ing them to the instructorsand the group. While someof my images of the morning were okay, otherswere quite good. Andmany of my photos fromthe afternoon elicited accolades from Rick Dole.It seems that my venturingoff on my own had resulted in some goodshots that no one else had.

I want to point outthat while we were trackside shooting, the instructors were always available to review our shots as wellas make suggestions.Their suggestions very

What made itinteresting wasthat the track wasin heavy shadow. The bright sky atthe top of the

uphill provided asilhouette of thevehicle as it

crested the uphillturn. Very nice!

Page 43: CVR Challenge December 2010

often provided insight intohow they see the world. They see shadows on thetrack and think of ways tomake use of them in theirphotographs. They notonly correct for sun orshade but they make useof them in an artistic way.To have the chance tosee and hear how theythink was the most valuable part of the whole day!

By the end of the day I was beat. I had spenteleven hours at the track, most of it taking photosand had over two

thousand images to gothrough. This was a lotand is probably morethan I should have takenbut I found that whenpresented with an idea, I wanted to explore it fullyand shoot it multipletimes changing littlethings as I went.

I also found that the70-200mm f2.8 lenswhile expensive is worthevery penny. I am notsure it will be my nextlens but it is on my list oflenses to try for next year. There are a few placesthat will rent you

equipment for a week-end or a week at a reasonable price. Thatway you can find whatworks best for you before you make yourcapital investment.

I learned a lot in theeleven hours I was thereand am looking forwardto using what I learned in the coming year. Muchof what I shoot will appear in Challenge.Hopefully you will enjoylooking at the photos Ishoot as much as I enjoytaking them.

Nikon sponsored theevent, and had all of theirnewest camera gear available for use. It featured the expert photo-graphic instruction ofGeorge Tiedermann, RickDole, and Robert LaBerge.George Tiedermann hasover thirty years of experience shooting forSports Illustrated andESPN Magazine, Rick Dolehas twenty-five years ofmotorsports photographyexperience, and RobertLaBerge’s exhaustive

catalogue of publicationsis far too long to list here.

All three advised differentmeans and best practicestowards achieve the sameresult: The best possible

My name is Chris Troianello. I am relatively new to the PCA and I have been obsessed with cars for as long as I can remember. I am an amateur autocrossand track photographer, and like most photographers I am always searching for a perfect shot. When I received word that Lime Rock Park would be offeringtheir first motorsports photography workshop duringthe Historic Festival that occurs every Labor Day Weekend, I was one of their first registrants and I successfully convinced two friends to sign up with me.

I shoot Canon and elected to use

my personal gear rather

than temporarily switch to the bestNikon bodies and

lenses that money can buy.

picture with the most striking-yet-natural color, contrast, saturation, andsharpness.

I shoot Canon andelected to use my personal gear rather thantemporarily switch to thebest Nikon bodies andlenses that money canbuy. While this choice ulti-mately handicapped myoutput, I wanted to getbetter with my own setup.I had purchased a new, recently released 70-200f/2.8L IS II telephoto lensabout a month earlier, andI was eager to put it to useon the vintage cars thatwould be our subjects.

I learned a lot and

absorbed a large amountof theory, however I admithaving difficulty withsome of the instruction.

For instance, the profes-sionals only shoot fullmanual where I am still

stuck shooting in shutter-priority mode, and theyalso advised against autofocus and I justcouldn't make this workto my satisfaction. I amfar too reliant upon the 1D II's amazing ability tofocus the way I desire, and while my full frame5D is nowhere near ascompetent in this regard I was also able to get surprisingly acceptableshots despite it not beinga “sports body.”

The instructors advised dialing down to a 5 frames per secondmaximum in order to better see the subject

as it roared past, and theyoffered great panning tipsto best follow and capturethe car. I was surprisedwhen they advisedagainst image stabiliza-tion (known as “IS” forCanon lenses and “VR,”short for Vibration Reduc-tion for Nikon glass), advice I did not follow because the IS feature isstill too novel an additionfor me to disable. The explanation was that image stabilization takestoo long to actuate beforea car has traveled out ofrange, rendering it useless in a lot of theshooting situations thatrequire a fast response.

One advantage afforded by this coursewas the ability to gettrackside to places thatwould otherwise be offlimits. This allowed us toget past the spectatorgates and walk up to theguard railing that lined the track. One part of Saturday found myself, and my two friends Corwyn and Matt hikingdown a wooded trail in order to access a remotepart of the track. We sur-faced towards the end ofthe back straight, enjoyed

>>> Panning is a technique that can produce excellentresults, but is also one that can take a great deal of practice. The idea behind panning is to pan your camera alongsmoothly in time with the moving subject in order to capturea relatively sharp subject but a blurred background. This canhelp create a feeling of movement and speed. >>>continued on page 46

the approving wave fromthe workers, and gotdown to business. Nolonger just spectators, our orange photographyvests allowed us to actually participate in theVintage Festival.

Saturday afternoonfound us basking at thephoto building after lunch. Before I knew what hewas doing, Matt grabbeda D3s, a vicious full frameNikon sports body, and an enormous 600mm f/4telephoto lens, and scampered up to the top

of the photo building. Ithad a perfect perch toshoot the cars coming

down the long frontstraight, and after theconstant walking between

vantages we appreciatedthe convenience of shooting from home base.We were later joined bythe instructor responsiblefor teaching Sunday’sPhotoshop photo process-ing class, and while I hadto miss this part of thecourse I hope to attend itin the future.

I would like to thankLime Rock Park for thechance to participate intheir motorsports photog-raphy course, and I wouldalso like to thank ReneaTopp, Lime Rock Park’s Director of Marketing andPublic Relations, for beingwonderfully accommodat-ing as I had schedulingconcerns that were easilyhandled. Were Lime RockPark to offer another similar course I wouldhighly recommend it to all budding automotivephotographers. The experience was great fun, and I learned a lot. I recently applied the instruction at a local PCA driving event, at Lime Rock of course, and the positive impactupon my photos is immediately appreciableto all who have seen myprevious work.

>>> A photographers eye for detail must extend to more than just the cars “on track”, as in this interestingcomparison of two distinctly different exhaust tips.

>>> It’s not always “justabout the cars”.
