The float shall be of all stainless steel construction and guar-anteed to withstand the designed system surge pressure with-out failure. Cla-Val Series 34 Air Release Valves are designed to vent entrainedair that collects at high points in a pipeline. This valve continuouslyeliminates air from a system by releasing small quantities of air beforelarge air pockets can occur. In many installations, continuing accumu-lations of air in the pipeline (lacking air release valves); cause flowcapacity to slowly decrease; power consumption slowly increases; un-noticeable at first, until flow drops dramatically, even stopping due toair blocks in the piping. Another problem resulting from excessive airaccumulation is un-explained pipeline rupture. These ruptures arepassed off as the result of ground settling or defective pipe, Where asin reality its large air pockets that greatly increase pressure surges(normally occurring) when flow stops and starts causing the rupture.During normal pipeline operation, air accumulation at the high point willdisplace the liquid within the air valve and lower the water level in rela-tion to the float. As level of the liquid lowers, where the float is no longerbuoyant, the float drops and opens the valve orifice seat and permittingaccumulated air to be exhausted to atmosphere. After air is released,the liquid level in the air valve rises and closes the valve orifice seat.This cycle automatically repeats as air accumulates inside the airrelease valve, thereby preventing the formation of air pockets

Air Release Valves

InstallationSeries 34 Air Release Valves are typically installed at high-points in pipelines and at regular intervals, of approximate1/2 mile, along uniform grade line pipe.

Mount the unit in the vertical position on top of the pipelinewith an isolation valve installed below each valve in theevent servicing is required. A vault with adequate air ventingand drainage is recommended.

Note:Vacuum check valves can be supplied on the discharge ofall size air release valves to prevent air re-entering the system;during negative pressure conditions

Purchase SpecificationsThe air release valve shall be of the float operated, simplelever or compound lever design, and capable ofautomatically releasing accumulated air from a fluid systemwhile the system is pressurized and operating.

An adjustable designed orifice button shall be used to sealthe valve discharge port with drip-tight shut-off. The orificediameter must be sized for use within a given operatingpressure range to insure maximum air venting capacity.

Air Release Valve Sizing for Water and Wastewater Pipelines1. Air release valve sizing requires determining the volume of air that must be released from pipeline high points during normal operation and the

diameter of the pipeline. Series 34 Air Release Valves are primarily used to continuously release pockets of air (as they develop) from high points. Hence it is not critical to determine exact volume of air to be released.

2. If the volume of air to be released has been determined, then use the venting capacity chart on page 5 to assist in sizing the air release valve. Use maximum pipeline operating pressure (in psi) and flow (in SCFM) to determine orifice size. Select the largest inlet size for each valve to insure adequate venting capacity.

FOR WATER AND

INSTALLATION TIPS1. The effectiveness of Series 34 Air Release Valve is dependent upon it being located at appropriate high points in a pipeline and

at uniform intervals of approximately 2500 feet on horizontal pipelines.2. There are four variables that can cause an air pocket to form slightly downstream of the true high point in a piping system:

1. Severity of the slope adjacent to the high point or change of gradient2. Velocity of the liquid3. Texture of the inside surface of the pipe being used4. Viscosity of the fluid

It is recommended where an air pocket can form slightly downstream of the high point, to install additional Series 34 Air ReleaseValve at this point.

3. Cla-Val has available, upon request, a Slide Rule Air Valve Calculator. It will greatly reduce the amount of time to size valves for pipeline service.

Air and Vacuum Valve Sizing - Combination Air Vacuum Valves - Vacuum Breaker Valves1. Series 35 Air and Vacuum Valves should be sized to handle the maximum amount of air to be exhausted or admitted into the

pipeline and not exceed an acceptable pressure differential across the valve.2. Each high point or change in grade must be examined independently when determining valve size. Use the steepest slope

for calculations.3. Use the flow capacity charts (A) and (B) on page 15 to assist sizing Air and Vacuum Valves.4. Determine the smallest valve size capable of exhausting air equal to the filling rate of the pipeline in CFS while

not exceeding a pressure differential of 2 psi across the valve orifice. (Based on pump capacity).

The following formula is recommended to calculate the rate of flow in CFS for filling the pipeline:

Where: CFS = Cubic feet per secondGPM= Gallons per minute

5. Determine the smallest valve size capable of admitting air equal to the potential flow in CFS while not exceeding a pressure differential of 5 psi across the valve orifice. (Based on gravity flow).

The following formula should be used to calculate the rate of flow in CFS that can occur within the pipeline under gravity flowconditions. (During Initial Filling • During Intentional Draining • During A Pipeline Rupture)

Where: Q = Flow of water in cubic feet per secondC = Coefficient in Chezy’s formula = 110S = Slope in feet per foot of lengthD = Inside pipe diameter in inches

6. If thin wall pipe is being used, the risk of pipeline collapse due to the formation of vacuum must be considered. The following formula may be used to calculate the collapsing pressure of thin walled cylindrical steel pipe using a safety factor of four:

7. For other pipe materials or thickness consult pipe manufacturer for pipe collapsing pressure.

8. Determine the smallest valve size capable of admitting the required air in CFS (as found in step 5) without exceeding the collapsing pressure (as found in step 6) or 5 psi, whichever is less. Do not exceed a pressure differential greater than 5 psi.

9. Finally compare the valve size determined in step 4 with the valve size determined in steps 5 or 6. If they differ, always select the larger valve size.

The Cla-Val Series 35 Air and Vacuum Valve is designed to performtwo separate functions. First, it will allow large quantities of air to beexhausted from the pipeline as it is being filled with water. Whenthis air has been vented completely, water will enter the valvecausing the float to seal tightly against the seat to prevent waterflow. Secondly, if the line is being drained, either intentionally or asa result of pipeline breakage, the valve responds to the loss inpressure and opens. This allows air to re-enter the pipeline andprevents potentially damaging vacuum from developing.

Note: The Series 35 does not open under pressure to exhaustsmall quantities of air which may collect at high points duringsystem normal operation. Series 34 Air Release Valve is requiredfor this function.

InstallationSeries 35 Air and Vacuum Valves should be installed at highpoints or at grade changes within the pipeline. Mount the unitin the vertical on top of the pipeline with isolation valve beloweach valve in the event servicing is required. A vault withadequate venting and drainage should also be provided.

Purchase SpecificationsThe air and vacuum valve shall be able to automaticallyexhaust large quantities of air during filling of a pipeline andallows air to re-enter pipeline during the draining or when anegative pressure occurs.

The inlet and outlet of the air and vacuum valve shall have thesame cross-section area as the pipe size. The float shall beguided by a stainless steel bottom guide shaft. The 4" andlarger valve floats shall have top and bottom guide shafts ofhexagonal cross section and have a protective steel dischargehood.

Design / Purchase SpecificationsThe combination air valve shall combine the operatingfeatures of both an air and vacuum valve and an airrelease valve in one housing. The air and vacuum valveportion shall automatically exhaust large quantities of airduring the filling of the pipeline and automatically allow airto reenter the pipeline when the internal pressure of thepipeline approaches a negative value due to column sepa-ration, draining of the pipeline, or other emergency. The airrelease valve portion shall automatically release smallamounts of air from the pipeline while it is under pressure.

The inlet and outlet of the valve shall have the same cross-section area. The float shall be guided by a stainless steelguide shaft and seat drip tight against a synthetic rubberseal. 4" and larger valves shall have dual guided shafts ofhexagonal cross section and a protective discharge hood.

The float shall be of all stainless steel construction and capableof withstanding maximum system surge pressure withoutfailure. The body and cover shall be concentrically locatedand of cast iron and the valve internal parts shall be of T316stainless steel or Buna-N® rubber.

The Combination Air Release and Vacuum Valve shall bemanufactured per ANSI/AWWA C512-04 Series 36 from Cla-Val., Newport Beach, CA, U.S.A.

The Cla-Val Series 36 Air and Vacuum Valve is a multipurposevalve that combines the operation of both the Model 34 AirRelease Valve and Model 35 Air and Vacuum Valve. It functionsto exhaust large quantities of air in the pipeline during the fillingcycle and to admit air, as necessary, to prevent potentiallydangerous vacuum from forming when being emptied eitherintentionally or as a result of pipeline breakage.

InstallationThe Series 36 Combination Air Valve should be installed athigh points at grade changes within the pipeline.

• Engineered For Drip Tight Seal At Low PressuresSeries 37 Well Service Air Valves regulate air discharge from thepump column to prevent shock and air entering the system witheach start. Conversely with each pump stop, full flow unrestrictedair, is allowed back into the column preventing vacuum forming,which can damage pump steals, but also to prevent the pumprestarting against a full head in the column because vacuum willprevent the pump column to drain. Under this condition severedamage to the pump, controls and piping can occur.

All the preceding is accomplished by means of a unique air throt-tling device (double port) and an arrestor check with built in anti-shock feature.

Well service air vacuum valves, once closed and pressured do notopen to air release under pressure.

InstallationThe Series 37 Well Service Valve is typically installed betweenthe pump discharge and check valve. Mount the unit in thevertical position on top of the pipeline with an isolation valveinstalled below the valve in the event servicing is required.Provide adequate air venting inside the pump station and fromair valve vaults on pipelines.

Design / Purchase SpecificationsThe Well service air valves shall automatically exhaust largequantities of air in the pump column during pump start-upand allow air to re-enter the column during pump shut-down.The air valve shall be designed for installation between out-let of vertical turbine pumps and the inlet of the pump checkvalve.

The inlet and outlet area of the air valve shall be equivalentto the valve pipe size same cross-section area. The valveshall have NPT Threaded or ANSI Flanged inlet and outlet.The float shall be guided by a hexagonal stainless steelguide shaft and seal drip-tight against a synthetic rubberseal. 4" and larger valve float shall be double guided and aprotective steel discharge hood provided.

The float shall be of all stainless steel construction andcapable of withstanding maximum system surge pressurewithout failure. The body and cover shall be concentricallylocated and of cast iron and the valve all internal parts shallbe T316 stainless steel with Buna-N® rubber seat.

1/2”, 1”, 2” and 3” Well Service Air Valves to be supplied witha double ported throttling device to regulate the discharge ofair from the pump column to prevent shock to the pump witheach start. 4” and larger well service valves to be suppliedwith an arrestor check to prevent shock to the pump witheach pump start. All Well Service Air Valves shall allow fullun-restricted air flow into the pump column, toprevent any vacuum from forming, with eachpump stop.

Series 37 Well Service Valves (HeavyDuty) are supplied with air throttlingdevices. These devices permit regulatingthe volume of air discharge from the verti-cal pump column thereby to cushion theshock from the rising water column, as itimpacts against a closed pump, dischargecheck valve or control valve. By utilizingthis type air valve damage to the verticalturbine pump. Piping and controls will beprevented. Field adjustment of this airthrottling device is quite simple andrequires no special tools.

Series 37 Well Service Valves (Light Duty)well service valves are supplied without airthrottle device. Instead it is fitted with awater diffuser that function like a waterfaucet bubbler to break down a solid col-umn of water into small streams there byallowing the water to raise the air valvefloat slowly into the closed position.Recommended where operating pumppressure are below 40 PSI and GPMvelocities less than 5’ per/sec

Flanged Series 37 Well & Pipeline serviceair valves are supplied with Arrestor CheckValves, function to stop the flow of water,(for a fraction of a second) entering theupper chamber of the air valve. TheArrestor Check then opens instantly, waterenters the air valve, all air is exhaustedand the air valve shuts. This ArrestorCheck action allows for a slow non shockair valve shut-off. To prevent pump orpipeline damage the shut-off/open actionof the arrestor check occurs practicallyinstantaneously. It is self regulating andrequires no adjustment in the field.Arrestor Check air valves are recommend-ed at high points where velocitiesapproach 10’ / second in the main line.

OperationAir Release Mode—Valve is normally open.When line is filled or pump started, air is exhausted through the normally open33A valve. As liquid fills the valve, float ball rises to form a drip-tight closureand remaining air is exhausted through small orifice.

Vacuum Prevent Mode When line pressure drops below positive pressureand the liquid level lowers, the float drops, unseating the valve and allowingair into the line, thus preventing a vacuum.

Installation

Series 33A Air Release and Vacuum Breaker Valves are typicallyinstalled at high points in pipelines for air release, or at anticipated pipelinevacuum occurrence locations. Install Series 33A at regular intervals(approximately 1/2 mile) along uniform grade line pipe. Mount the unit in thevertical position on top of the pipeline, and include an isolation/shutoff valve.

Series 33A is often installed upstream of check valves in pump dischargesto vent air during start-up and to allow air reentry when the pump stops.

Designed to protect pipelines and vertical turbine pump appli-cations on offshore platforms from air lock and vacuum col-lapse, the Cla-Val Model 33A Air Release and VacuumBreaker Valve eliminates air and prevents vacuum formationsin pipelines. A large venting orifice and large float clearancesfreely exhaust or admits air during pipeline filling or draining.

During normal pipeline operation, air accumulation and buoy-ancy cause the float ball to lower or lift. As the water levellowers inside the valve, small amounts of accumulated air arereleased through the small orifice. Once air is released, thepatented float poppet system closes drip tight.

Valve servicing is simple because the entire float poppet sys-tem, can be replaced without removal of the valve body fromthe pipeline.

VACUUM PREVENTION AND SLOW AIR RELEASE FORPRESSURE SURGE CONTROL

Cla-Val Vacuum Breakers are reliable and economical pipeline surgecontrol components, requiring no regular maintenance.

Standard valves are designed to open with minimal (1/4 psi) pressuredifferential across the orifice. Higher or lower relief settings are available.

The Vacuum Breaker Valve (Large orifice combined with Air ReleaseValve (small orifice) are normally closed. But when installed at pointswhere water column separation can occur, both orifices open admittingair into pipeline, then instantly close to trap air and thereby cushioningrejoining of the water column. In this manner severe pressure surge/waterhammer is prevented as the system returns to normal operation.

Simultaneously the small orifice Air Release Valve opened due to vacu-um and stays open venting the discharge of trapped air from pipelineslowly until gradual normal pipeline pressure is achieved. Various smallorifice are available. See small orifice chart.

Water column separation in a pipeline may create high levels of vacuumonly momentarily, but severe damage, such as a pipeline rupture canoccur when the water column rejoins. Also momentarily vacuum condi-tions can easily cause a thin wall pipeline or sealed water tank to col-lapse due to vacuum when draining fluid. Metal to Buna-N® insures “droptight” seal at any pressure. For these reasons it is sound engineeringpractice to use Cla-Val Vacuum Breaker Air Release Valves to preventwater column separation in pipelines and collapse of tanks.

Operating Description

This valve is pressure type vacuum relief valve designedto open when line pressure is below atmospheric. Thelarge inlet ports are designed to admit air to the line withminimum of restriction.The design is very simple with only one moving part.Controlling vacuum is transmitted directly to thediaphragm chamber through the hollow stem. A largediaphragm area helps insure sensitive operation.At pressure above atmospheric the valve is tightlyclosed. The composition disc insures tight sealing evenat low pressure. The diaphragm is heavily reinforced withnylon fabric.

The Cla-Val series 34WW Air Release Valve is speciallydesigned for sewage service. It will protect pipelines fromentrained air or gases that collect at high points in sewagepipelines. This valve effectively eliminates air from a system byreleasing small amounts of air before large air pockets canoccur. In extreme cases, the continued accumulation of air with-out release valves can actually stop flow completely. Increasedpower consumption and associated power costs can beanticipated if systems are not properly designed to releaseaccumulated air.

During normal operation, air and gas accumulation will displacethe liquid within the valve and lower the liquid level in relation tothe float. When the level of the liquid lowers to where the float isno longer buoyant, the float will lower and using a mechanicallever will open the valve seat to permit the accumulated air to beexhausted to atmosphere. As air is released, liquid level in thevalve raises the float and closes the valve seat. This cycle isautomatically repeated as often as necessary.

Installation

Series 34WW Air Release Valves are typically installed at highpoints in pipelines and at regular intervals of approximately 1/2mile, along horizontal pipelines.

Mount the unit in the vertical position on top of the pipeline withan isolation valve installed below each valve in the eventservicing is required. A vault with adequate venting and drainageshould also be provided.

For regular cleaning to keep sewage equipment in good workingcondition use the optional customer installed BWKT BackwashKit with back flushing hose and quick disconnect couplings.

Purchase SpecificationsThe air release valve shall be of the float operated, com-pound lever design, and capable of automatically releasingaccumulated air, gas or vapor from a pressurized fluid systemwhile it is in operation.

An adjustable featured orifice shall be used to seal the valvedischarge port with drip-tight shut-off. The orifice diametermust be sized for use within a given operating pressure rangeto insure maximum discharge capacity.

The Cla-Val Series 35WW Air and Vacuum Valve is designed toperform two separate functions in a sewage or wastewater system.First, it will allow large quantities of air to be exhausted from thepipeline as it is being filled. When this air has been ventedcompletely, liquid will enter the valve causing the float to seal tightlyagainst the seat. The Cla-Val Series 36WW Combination Air and Vacuum Valveis a multipurpose valve that combines the operation of both theSeries 34WW Air Release Valve and Series 35WW Air andVacuum Valve, especially for sewage and wastewater applications.It functions to exhaust large quantities of air in the pipeline duringthe filling cycle and to admit air, as necessary, to prevent apotentially dangerous vacuum from forming when being emptiedeither intentionally or as a result of pipeline breakage.

The air release valve portionshall automatically release small amounts of air from thepipeline while it is under pressure.

The inlet and outlet of the valve shall have the same cross-section area. The float shall be guided by a stainless steelguide shaft and seat drip-tight against a synthetic rubberseal.

The float shall be of all stainless steel construction andcapable of withstanding maximum system surge pressurewithout failure. Silent Wafer Check Valve

SPECIFICATIONS

The silent wafer check valve shall consist of a heavycast iron body, bronze seat, bronze disc, and stain-less steel spring. The valve disc shall be centerguided at both ends with an integral shaft and shallbe spring loaded for silent operation. The spring shallbe helical or conical and stone tumbled to achieve amicro-finish to resist mineral deposits. For ease ofmaintenance, the seat and disc shall be replaceablein the field.

Check valve shall be capable of silent operationwhen installed in vertical or horizontal positions witheither flow up or flow down. The flow area throughthe body shall be equal to or greater than the cross-section area of the equivalent pipe size. The valveshall be a Cla-Val Series 580 Silent Wafer CheckValve.

To min-imize Slam / Water Hammer typically experienced with con-ventional swing check valves. Basically Two Door designvalves, halves the travel distance from open valve to shut-offvs swing check valves and is the reason for the Anti-slam /Minimum Water Hammer feature. Recommendations for Installation Position1. Install the valve in horizontal or upward flow for proper valve closure.Caution: Do not use with reciprocating compressors, or in other pulsating services.

SPECIFICATIONSThe wafer swing check valve shall have torsional aspring-assisted fast closure to minimize possibility ofwater hammer. The valve shall be constructed ofeither cast iron or steel body.

The body shall have a machined dovetail groove toretain a field replaceable Nitrile (Buna-N®) Seal thatprovides water-tite shut-off at low/high pressure

DESCRIPTIONCla-Val Series 501A Wafer Swing Check Valve has a quick,spring-assisted, closure that minimizes the possibility ofwater hammer. The swing check design offers low head lossand a full-flow passageway making it ideal for water or waste-water applications. The short lay length of the valve allowsfor a space-saving design. It is available in sizes 2” to 30”,with either a 125 lb. or 150 lb. pressure class rating.

Available in a variety of materials, including all 316 stain-less steel, the Cla-Val Wafer Swing Check Valve uses astandard soft seat to ensure a drip-tight seal. For ease ofinstallation, valves 6” and larger are supplied with a tappedhole to mount an eye bolt for lifting. All materials conformto ASTM specifications, ensuring performance reliability.

Cla-Val “Tite Seal” foot valves provide years of trouble free opera-tion at low or high pressures. The special Buna-N® seal allowsinitial contact to the metal plug, for zero leakage, then as pres-sure builds, the Buna-N® seal is compressed only slightly until theplug fully contacts the metal seat preventing further compressionof the Buna-N® seal. In this manner the seal cannot be damagedfrom compression and pump prime is always assured. A 360degree stainless steel strainer (not plated steel) is providedstandard with at least, three times flow-thru area of the foot valvesize. This greatly enlarged flow thru area strainer means full flowcan be maintained even should some small particles collectagainst the strainer. Cla-Val “Tite Seal” Foot Valves provide non-shock and silent shut-off.

Cla-Val “Tite Seal” FootValve SpecificationsThe foot valve shall be globe style,flanged with resilient seal againstmetal; provide full flow equal to valvesize and shut-off silently. Foot valveinternals shall include a plug, doubleguided that allows full pipe flow whenopen. A guide bushing and all internals shallbe field replaceable. The metal seat withBuna-N® seal shall provide zero leakageat low and high pressures without sealdamage. A heavy gauge 360 degree, stainlesssteel strainer (not plated steel) having aflow-thru area of at least three times thatof the foot valve flow area shall be con-nected to the outside diameter of theinlet flange.

Flex-Check Valve™

The Cla-Val Model 584 Flex-Check Valve is designed for longservice life and maintenance free check valve operation comparedto traditional swing check valves. It has a full-flow area body withintegral seat at 45° angle to reduce head loss. This minimizes disctravel to 35° degrees for improved no-slam check action and forreliable vertical up flow operation even on slurry applications.Body and Cover are fusion bonded NSF-61 epoxy coated for longservice life on potable and non-potable systems. Unique one-piece steel and nylon reinforced Buna-N rubber disc assemblyflexes to eliminate traditional metal hinge problems. During sys-tem flowing conditions the disc flexes up to the open positionallowing unrestricted flow through the valve. When systemreverse flow conditions occur the disc flexes down to the closedposition for drop-tight seal preventing reverse flow. The flex-discreliability is test-proven to over one million cycles. The optionalReturn Flow Actuator offers manual opening for pump priming,back flushing, draining lines, or system testing needs and is easyto field install.

Cla-Val Flex-Check Valve™ Specifications

The check valve shall be of the Flex-Check Valve™ full bodyflanged type, with a domed access cover and only one movingpart - the flexible valve disc.

The valve body shall have full flow equal to nominal pipe diam-eter at any point through the valve. The seating surface shallbe on a 45° angle to minimize disc travel and shall include aport for installation of a screw type return flow actuator for man-ually activated return flow capabilities. The top access port ofthe body shall be full size, allowing removal of the disc withoutremoval of the valve from the pipeline. The cover shall bedomed to create a flushing action around the disc when valveis open. The valve body and cover shall be ASTM A536 Grade65-45-12, Class B Ductile Iron coated and lined with anANSI/NSF61 approved fusion bonded epoxy coating. TheModel 584 Flex-Check Valve™ shall be designed, manufac-tured, and tested in accordance with ANSI/AWWA Standard C-508.

The disc shall be one-piece construction, precision molded withan integral O-ring type sealing surface and contain steel andnylon reinforcements in the central disc area and in the flexsupport area. The non-slam closing characteristic shall be pro-vided through a short 35° disc stroke and disc return action.The disc shall be Buna-N® (NBR), ASTM D20000-BG.

This valve shall be a Cla-Val Model 584 Flex-Check Valve™ asmanufactured by Cla-Val, Newport Beach, CA 92659-0325.

LIMITED WARRANTYAir Valves as supplied by Cla-Val. are warranted for one yearfrom date of shipment against manufacturing defects in materi-al and workmanship that develop in the service for which theyare designed, provided the products are installed and used inaccordance with all applicable instructions and limitationsissued by Cla-Val. Electronic components manufactured byCla-Val are warranted for one year from the date of shipment.

We will repair or replace defective material, free of charge,which is returned to our factory, transportation charges prepaid,provided that, after inspection, the material is found to havebeen defective at time of shipment. This warranty is express-ly conditioned on the purchaser’s giving Cla-Val immediate writ-ten notice upon discovery of the defect.

Components used by Cla-Val but manufactured by others, arewarranted only to the extent of that manufacturer’s guarantee.

This warranty shall not apply if the product has been altered orrepaired by others, and Cla-Val shall make no allowance orcredit for such repairs or alterations unless authorized in writingby Cla-Val.

DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES AND LIMI-TATIONS OF LIABILITYThe foregoing warranty is exclusive and in lieu of all other war-ranties and representations, whether expressed, implied, oralor written, including but not limited to any implied warranties ormerchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. All suchother warranties and representations are hereby cancelled.

Cla-Val shall not be liable for any incidental or consequentialloss, damage or expense arising directly or indirectly from theuse of the product. Cla-Val shall not be liable for any damagesor charges for labor or expense in making repairs or adjust-ments to the product. Cla-Val shall not be liable for any dam-ages or charges sustained in the adaptation or use of its engi-neering data and services. No representative of Cla-Val maychange any of the foregoing or assume any additional liabilityor responsibility in connection with the product. The liability ofCla-Val is limited to material replacements F.O.B. NewportBeach, California.

ACCEPTANCE OF ORDERS

All orders are subject to acceptance by our main office atNewport Beach, California.

CREDIT TERMS

Credit terms are net thirty (30) days from date of invoice.

PURCHASE ORDER FORMS

Orders submitted on customer’s own purchase order forms willbe accepted only with the express understanding that no state-ments, clauses, or conditions contained in said order form willbe binding on the Seller if they in any way modify the Seller’sown terms and conditions of sales.

PRODUCT CHANGES

The right is reserved to make changes in pattern, design ormaterials when deemed necessary, without prior notice.

PRICES

All prices are F.O.B. Newport Beach, California unless express-ly stated otherwise on our acknowledgement of the order.Prices are subject to change without notice. The prices atwhich any order is accepted are subject to adjustment to theSeller’s price in effect at the time of shipment. Prices do notinclude sales, excise, municipal, state or any other Governmenttaxes. Minimum order charge $100.00

RESPONSIBILITY

We will not be responsible for delays resulting from strikes,accidents, negligence of carriers, or other causes beyond ourcontrol. Also, we will not be liable for any unauthorized productalterations or charges accruing therefrom.

RISK

All goods are shipped at the risk of the purchaser after theyhave been delivered by us to the carrier. Claims for error, short-ages, etc., must be made upon receipt of goods.

EXPORT SHIPMENTS

Export shipments are subject to an additional charge for exportpacking.

RETURNED GOODS

1. Customers must obtain written approval from Cla-Val priorto returning any material.

2. Cla-Val reserves the right to refuse the return of any prod-ucts.

3. Products more than six (6) months old cannot be returnedfor credit.

4. Specially produced, non-standard models cannot bereturned for credit.

5. Rubber goods such as diaphragms, discs, o-rings, etc., can-not be returned for credit, unless as part of an unopenedvacuum sealed repair kit which is less than six months old.

6. Goods authorized for return are subject to a 35% ($100 min-imum) restocking charge and a service charge for inspec-tion, reconditioning, replacement of rubber parts, retesting,repainting and repackaging as required.

7. Authorized returned goods must be packaged and shippedprepaid to Cla-Val,1701 Placentia Avenue, Costa Mesa,California 92627.
