Degree in Hispanic Philology (1994-1999), University

of Santiago de Compostela.Degree in Romanic

Philology (1998-2000), University of Santiago de

Compostela.Master in European Medieval Studies

“Estudios Medievales Europeos. Imagen, Texto y

Contexto”. Organised by the University of Santiago de

Compostela. 2009-2010. Final mark: Outstanding (10).

Since 2001 she does research work in institutions such

as the University of Santiago de Compostela or Centro

Ramón Piñeiro, and works on many publications and

papers, such as the Transcription and preparation

of the Códice Rico of the Cantigas de Santa María.

The book is currently under preparation and it will be

published by Editorial Testimonio (in collaboration

with Elvira Fidalgo). Publishing Agreement signed on

15 August 2010. She also gives lectures on national

and international Universities on Late Medieval Iberian

Poetry and Liturgy and Cantigas de Santa María. As far

as ELE concerns, at present she works as academic

coordinator in Cursos Internacionais, at Santiago

de Compostela University and in the past she also

collaborated as a teacher of Spanish language and

Culture in Centro de Linguas Modernas, La Coruña

University, and Centro de Estudos de Espanhol in

Braga, Portugal from June 2005.

Degree in Hispanic Philology and Romanesque

Philology (University of Santiago de Compostela)

and Máster of Education of the Spanish like Foreign

Language (UNED). Teacher of Language and Spanish

culture for foreigners and forming of ELE’s teachers in

Courses Internacionales-USC. Functions of academic

coordination in the courses of Spanish. He is a

member of the court of examinations DELE.

Teacher in the course of formation Specialized

in Spanish Foreign Language, posgrado of the

Universidade do Minho (CFEELE). It has taken

part as referee in several programs of didactic and

methodological formation for ELE’s teachers in Spain

and abroad in collaboration with the Department

of Education, the Institute Cervantes and the

Universidade do Minho. She has been a tutor in the

courses of Spanish for foreigners organized by the

Center of Languages of the University of To Corunna,

Open University of United Kingdom and University of

Northern of Iowa.

Guided tour to the Cathedral and the History CityLecturer: Miguel Ángel Cajigal

Visit the historic city, the richest and most complex

cathedral in Europe.

This visit is intended to learn about the monuments,

squares and streets of the historic center of Santiago,

a World Heritage Site. The visit begins in the Plaza de

Platerías, the Dean’s House, the House of the Cabildo,

Colegio Fonseca, the plaza and facade of Obradoiro,

the College of St. Jerome, Rajoy Palace, Hostel of

the Catholic Monarchs, the square and facade of the

Azabachería, San Martin Pinario Monastery, Plaza de

la Quintana and facade as well as the interior of the

Cathedral.

The Cathedral is the soul of the city and kept inside

the crypt are the remains of St. James, in addition to

the Portico of Glory, the sculpture most complex of

Romanesque era.

Most of Santiago de Compostela was made to

the measure of pilgrims, indeed they had partially

built it. When arriving, they prolonged they journey

through a real and emotive itinerary: pilgrim´s

inns, favourite accommodation for all nationalities,

hospitals, the cementery of Santo Peregrino,

specialized shops, …

WEdnEsdaY 10Visit to the artisitc Heritage of the university University guide

The University of Santiago de Compostela is one

of the oldest universities in Spain and Europe,

over 500 years old. This visit will cover the most

significant historical sites by reviewing the history

and heritage of this institution from the Middle Ages

to the present.

Start your visit at the Palace of Fonseca Cloister,

Noble Hall, and the paneled room. Then visit the

Library of America, a real treasure of the University.

And finally, visit the School of Geography and

History, the auditorium and the balcony of the

Faculty where you can enjoy a magnificent view

of the city.

It is housed in the building known as the Gothic

House, with construction features from the 14th

century, including, however, important remodelling

from later dates.

The exhibition is divided into the eight rooms, which

highlight the importance, for European culture

and Hispanic America, of the pilgrimage and the

worship of St. James.
