It covers an introduction to at-mospheric and oceanic circulation, climate variability and change, water, energy, and car-bon cycles, global warming, past, present, and future climate. Introduction to the Blue Ocean, AOS/GEOL 375, is a new undergraduate course which provides an introduction to the history of oceanography, physical, chemical, and biologi-cal oceanography, ocean circulation, air-sea interactions and atmospheric forcing, envi-ronmental issues in the oceans, and role of the oceans in climate variability and change. Introduction to the Earth-Life System, is an undergraduate course that relates the geolog-ical evolution of the Earth to evolution of life from prokaryotes to eukaryotes to modern humans and the potential feedback from evolution of life to evolution of climate. Eath, Life, and Sustainability, is an undergraduate course that places life in the context of the Big History, i.e, the Big Bang to the Big Crunch, in terms of its evolution, interactions with climate, and what evolutionary features may be most critical for future response of life, especially humans to a warming climate.
