Conception and development of the National Nursing Education Research Network
(NNERN), a collaborative of nursing schools committed to collecting a uniform core of
measures in annual surveys of faculty and students to support longitudinal study of issues
critical to academic nursing, 2014-present
Hosted and chaired meetings in Indianapolis, Chicago, and Washington DC with
executive leadership of the major nursing education organizations: American
Association of Colleges of Nursing, National League for Nursing, National Council of
State Boards of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International Honors Society, 2014-2015
Designed and maintained interactive web-interface to the data base from our national
survey of nurse faculty, permitting individual nursing programs to produce
customized distributions comparing their own faculty members to national averages;
serves as a prototype for Research Network, 2012

Secured planning grant and recruited two prominent academic nursing leaders to head

Disseminated findings from childhood obesity chartbooks at community meetings in Trenton,
Camden, Newark, New Brunswick, and Vineland; findings were cited widely in designing
initiatives and securing funding in those cities, including Corey Booker and Michelle
Obama’s ceremony launching Let’s Move (November, 2010), Campbell Soup Company’s
announcement of its commitment of $10 million to address childhood obesity in Camden
(2011), and announcement of a collaboration between Nestle Foods Corporation and the City
of Newark (2012)
