Preface In this compilation, a budding photographer and esteemed artist come together as they capture the human tendency of people to celebrate their cultures through dance and play. The hope is, as you, our esteemed audience, view these pages, it will present to you yet another manner in which people of the world regard their cultures. The human condition is one that is subjective and constantly changing. As a highly regarded photojournalist and new photographer who are interested in stories told simply by facial expressions, we bring to you a series of photographs whose goal is to emphasize the ever changing and captivating nature of life around the world.
Steve McCurry studied film at Pennsylvania State University but graduated with a degree in theater arts. He worked as a photographer for the Penn State newspaper, which sparked his interest in photography. In his work, McCurry endeavors to tell a story through captivating faces and eyes brimming with emotion and life, as seen his most famous picture “Afghan Girl,” which was taken for National Geographic and launched his career in the photojournalism. A dedicated and remarkable start to his career, McCurry is known for undercover to capture armed conflict as he crossed the border from Pakistan to Afghanistan. His work has gained worldwide recognition and. McCurry now works for National Geographic and he is one of the most widely known photojournalists today.
