Among the many things Greece has offered to the world, this presentation includes only several to be included in the time capsule of global cultural heritage.
Architecture - the pillar
The ancient Greek architecture has inspired architects to deploy ancient Greek design features in modern buildings, such as the pillars seen at the U.S. Capitol or the entrance of the White House.
Theater- Tragedy- Satirical Drama- Comedy
Theater in ancient Greece has its roots in the cult of Dionysus, god of wine and fertility.
The tragedy occurred in the first Dionysian Festival 534 BC, followed by the satirical drama about 500 BC, and comedy in 486 BC.
Sculpting- Karyatides- Niki of Samothrace- Aphrodite of Milos
Ancient Greek sculptures are considered to be the finest of all time. Unfortunately only a few remain intact.
Various artists, especially during the renaissance, have studied ancient Greek sculptures in order to imitate the techniques used.
Philosophy- Socrates- Plato- Aristotle- Pythagoras
Ancient Greek philosophers were the founders of what today is called western philosophy.
Democracy
Democracy was first introduced in Athens in 508-507 BC by Cleisthenes.
