Objective:

• To promote and develop an Inter-American common space of Higher Education that enables leaders and decision makers from Higher Education Institutions to jointly dicuss, examine, and evaluate the strategic aspects of internationalization, with a view to understanding its contribution to quality, regional development, and growth.

• Founded in 2009 by the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE), the

Consortium for Northern American Higher Education Collaboration (CONAHEC) and

the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (OUI-IOHE) with the support of

Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (DFAIT)

• CAIE-Canada 2010: To evaluate the relevance of such a forum for the Americas

• CAIE-Brazil 2012: To consolidate experience and to increase mobilization

• CAIE-Mexico 2013: To discuss “Knowledge Mobility: Responsibiliy and Resources”
