About EURES and EURES-T Pannonia
• Established in 1993 to support employment mobility, cooperation of public employment services and other labour market stakeholders of the European Economic Area (EU member states, Norway, Island, Liechtenstein).
• After 2 years of preparation EURES-T Pannonia has been establishes in 2009, through cooperation of 26 partner organisation of Western Hungary and Eastern Austria.
• Necessity due to the existing economical and commercial cross-border network and to the high cross-border mobility (existing already before the labour market opening).

• Numerous Hungarian job seeker have found a job already – who wanted to work in Austria was able to work there.
• The market of skilled labour was almost completely open before 2011 already
• Demand for skilled labour of shortage occupation, like in Hungary (gastronomy, tourism, engineers with higher degree, social workers for home care, informatics)
• The regional labour market is a competitive environment for skilled labour and shortage occupation

• Hungarian employees prefer daily commuting in the border region.
• Most popular professions are engineers, health care experts, electricians, skilled construction workers, pastry chefs and cooks, waiters >> gastronomy, metal industry, health care and IT are shortage occupations in Hungary.

• Within the scope of the ETC Austria-Hungary.
• Targets the competence development and strengthened cooperation by know-how transfer and good practices.

• Analyses of the health care training demand in the region (as a unit), explore harmonisation possibilities and certainly improve service quality due to specified training programs.

MedAustron ion therapy centrein Wiener Neustadt
• Cancer research and treatment centre, Austrian investment
• One of the most advanced centres for Ion Beam Therapy and Research in Europe. The radiation therapies applied will use protons and carbon ions („heavy ion therapy”).
• Co-operation with Hungary: RegIonCo project was established to enable the treatment of Hungarian patients at MedAustron.
(patient management, transnational data transfer, clinical research, scientific and economical networking and medical education)
Study of the regional medicallabour market
• With focus on the Hungarian labour market, system of medical education and recognition of degrees, potential co-operation for exchange of health care professionals respectively.
• Main conclusions:
Health care specialists are able and ready to go abroad due to better working conditions and in order to widen own medical experiences.
Health care politics tries to keep medical experts in Hungary (high education costs, threatening shortage of young specialists)
Cross border training of oncologists and radio therapists
• Co-operation between MedAustron and the radio therapy centre in Szombathely, Hungary.
• For the vocational education of young oncologists, radio therapist, specialised nursing staff.
• MedAustron finances the higher vocational training of young doctors, after the years of education the centre offers a job opportunity.
• Starting phase.
