CROP AND SOIL MANAGEMENT

The Crop and Soil Management degree program is provided by

Northwest State in partnership with OSU Agricultural Technical Institute

(ATI), enabling students to get the majority of their degree close to home.

The program gives students a solid understanding of soil science, weed

control and crop diseases. With the additional emphasis on the business

core, students will be able to successfully compete in the agricultural

industry.

In the degree plan, NSCC-led coursework includes the general education

requirements, as well as business-oriented studies. The ATI-led

coursework adds the soil, grain and crop studies.

Graduates of the Crop and Soil Management degree program

work in areas ranging from biofuels to sustainable agriculture to

food production. Specific career opportunities include:

Farm manager

Production specialist

Sales technician

Field positions in seed, fertilizer, chemical and farm support

businesses.
