Set amongst natural woodland in the countryside, Worthing Crematorium and the picturesque surroundings are a haven for wildlife.

Originally built in the 1960’s to replace the small family chapel with a larger more modern 160 seat chapel including ancillary room areas.

Worthing Crematoriums first contact with Rosehill was in 2000 when the Executive Member for Crematorium Services requested that the seating in the then larger chapel be reviewed with the brief of increasing the capacity from 50 to 100, and improvingthe comfort.

“We contacted numerous suppliers of furniture. Rosehill were by far the most helpful, supplying drawings, showing best layouts, sending and collecting sample chairs and fabric swatches.

Cremation accounts for 71% of all funerals in the UK and prior to South Lanarkshire Crematorium local residents had no other option than to use a Crematorium outside their borders which resulted ina surcharge.

The Crematorium provides a muchneeded service and has received strong support from all religious groups and funeral directors, including those from outside the area.

South Lanarkshire is one of the few public authority crematoriums with abatement equipment, and therefore one of the first in the UK and the first in Scotland to comply with the new European limits on mercury emissions. A brand new crematorium costing £4.6million built at Sydes Brae, Blantyre on the outskirts of the town near to the countryside, with views overlooking the Clyde Valley

South Lanarkshire Crematorium had to go through the normal procurement procedure looking at various furniture suppliers and obtaining a number of quotations. They had seen Rosehills products installed at a different location and so made sure that Rosehill were one of the companies they approached. The brief was not to look simply at cost or quality but valuefor money.

Rosehill supplied various samples of chairs and fabrics and the Crematorium ordered 160 Integra chairs in June 2006
