CELEBRATING OVER 40 YEARS OF SUMMER FUN
2
WELCOME MESSAGE from the Director Karen Allen (805) 388-1140 Here we are, again, at this year’s Creative Arts Workshop program…….which began back in 1970 by a wonderful group of ladies (when there was a need for summer classes) from the American Association of University Women – Camarillo Branch. The branch continues to be the oldest women’s organization devoted to lifelong learning and positive societal change (their mission statement.) Opportunities for adults include:
• Donations:
o We accept donations for student scholarships. Scholarships may be made in $30 increments (for 1, 2, 3, or 4 classes.)
o If interested, please contact: Karen Allen at 388-1140
This year we thank the many, many folks who have come to us every year with such wonderful ideas about how to make this program grow. These are those who enrich the program with ideas for classes, for staff, for teen helpers…those who provide materials, scrounge items…those who help set-up, clean-up, pack, unpack and move items…those who support our program financially…and those of you who have so faithfully been a part of this amazing program throughout its 40+ years. Without each and every one of you—this program would not be the success story that we read about today: so “Thank you all so very, very much!”
I’d like to add a special “Congratulations” to Alyssa Hermans for her Soroptimist Award and very generous donation to Creative Arts Workshop!
I also thank each of you families that are attending the program this year…and those that have been faithful to our program in years past. I hope that each family will take an opportunity to visit many of the classrooms to see what wonderful things are going on each and every day – I greatly appreciate the staff, the students and all of the families!
Each year we have hundreds of students in the program who find their summer enriched by the ideas of the incredible CAW teachers. Some of the staff members have been involved for many years, some have been through the program as students and some are welcomed as new members of the staff. Thank you to everyone involved in Creative Arts Workshop and / or the Camarillo Branch of the American Association of University Women for the wonders of this fantastic program!
Sincerely, Karen Allen Website: camarillo-ca.aauw.net
