Stage 1• I began with taking my models to have their picture taken in the sixth form block. I took
several photos of, Alexander, Jess and Luke. I then downloaded them onto my Laptop where I used Adobe Photoshop CS3 and the quick selection tool to cut and paste into my magazine document. I began with Luke and placed him in the centre of the magazine. I built my magazine around Luke, playing about with different fonts for a title.

Stage 2 and 3• I then decided on a black font that would suffice as the title font from a website on the
internet and inserted Luke back onto the magazine.

Stage 4• My next stage involved me applying a back ground to my poster, the universe and then the
earth. I decided this looked too much for my poster and removed both features.

Stage 5• For stage 5, I took individual pictures of Jess and Alex to put into my trailer behind Luke. I cut
them out using the quick selection tool on Photoshop then copied and pasted them onto my main poster.

Stage 5 Continued

Stage 6• I came to the conclusion that a plain white back ground looked too bright and out of place
against my characters and font. I opted for a gradient grey look. I created a new layer, selected effects and applied a gradient overlay.

Stage 7My original plan was to have the banner at the top of my poster to say ‘From the Director of the Situation’ but I then decided to add the names of my actors at the top of the poster. Originally they were all black and the same size, but as my poster progressed, I decided to make ‘Luke Beckess’ stand out more by being blue and larger in font as he is the main character.

Stage 8There was no real progression in stage 8 apart from that I added ‘June 2014’ to the poster under the title to inform potential viewers of the release date.

Stage 9I felt that my poster lacked colour and excitement as well as a something to indicate that it was a comedy. I added blue stars under the actors which I think works well overall. I google searched the ‘cartoon stars’, cut them out using the quick selection tool in a separate Photoshop document and then pasted them onto my main poster.

Stage 10My next stage was adding the information at the bottom of the poster stating the producer, actors directors and other important people involved with the film making.

Stage 11My last stage was adding the earth in behind the actors. I felt I needed some relevance to the film title, ‘A world of his own’ referring to Luke living like he’s the only person in the world.
