1 Create a Canva Account

Go to https://www.canva.com

2 Create a new Design

3 Choose Custom

Dimensions

The banner dimensions should

be 2400px x 980px.

4 Select a Photo

Click and drag a ‘free’ photo

from the left into the design

pane. Also, you can upload your

own copyright free images.

6 Download your banner

Save the image as a ‘.png’ file

for a better quality image.

7 Go back to D2L

8 Click into the course

Scroll to the bottom of the

homepage. Click the 3 dots.

Select ‘Display Homepage Banner’.

9 Customize Banner Text

Hover over the banner image.

Click the 3 dots. To remove

the course name, click ‘None’.

5 Add Text

Select ‘Subheading’ and enter

your text in the text box. Make

sure you use strong color con-

trasts, i.e.. black on white. A

good ‘Times Neue Roman font

size is 80 and ‘Trocchi’ is 72.

Find your course on the homepage.

Hover over the thumbnail of your

course. Click on the 3 dots and select

‘Change Image’. Click ‘Upload’ and

select your banner.
