New efficient ways to move customers’ shipments

Every industry tries to keep innovating to increase profitability or to reduce costs, to increase efficiency or to offer better quality services. The courier industry is no different. It is consistently working on better systems, more efficient ways to move customers’ shipments and new modus operandi that can reduce operating costs without compromising on the quality of service being delivered.

From small compartments to having a cubic meter space in containers, courier companies are working with automakers and bike manufacturers to come up with energy efficient vehicles.

That is also where electric cars come in. While drones are yet to become popular or even viable on a large scale, electric cars are already in use, whether it is Germany or Italy, France or Japan. It is likely that more courier companies will start using electric vehicles for the sheer advantage of cost. There is the eco-friendly attribute as well. Courier companies have already mastered click and collect services which is certainly a more efficient way to deliver goods than dropping each item at respective addresses. Now, some companies are contemplating delivery in cars and one major courier has already started this experiment in Munich, Germany.
