� Since 12 August 2011 were enforced three new regulations:

� Regulation for Nuclear and radiation Safety� Regulation for NPP safety� Regulation for Research reactors safety

� State program on development of nuclear sphere in the Republic of Kazakhstan for the period 2013 -2020

� Application on building of International bank of LEU of IAEA ( under consideration)

� Development of:� Nuclear energy� Atomic industry� Health and environmental protection (Nuclear

medicine, rehabilitation of the territories of former test sites)

� Nuclear research � …

In the close co-operation between KAEC and NRPA during last three years was conducted analyses of situation in this are in Kazakhstan

According to it we need to have proposals for:◦ elaboration of National strategy on

Radioactive waste management which should include appropriate technologies, RW categorization and criteria for RW disposal.

◦ new classification of RW in accordance with international practice.

◦ Draft of RW disposal regulation for each category.

◦ Criteria and hygiene standards for rehabilitation of territories contaminated with radionuclides◦ Regulations for radiation safety of personnel

and population who will use of rahabilitatedterritories, buildings etc.

We plan to invite for elaboration of National strategy on RWM and regulations:

� KAEC� Ministry of environment protection� Ministry of Health� National atomic Company “Kazatomprom”� National nuclear centre� NTSC
