Counterfeit to Counter This is a collaborative project with Coventry Cyrenians (CC), (a charity for the homeless) and CoventryTrading Standards(CTS). Angela Armstrong and Ann Muirhead initially were approached by CC, for advice on how to up-cycle counterfeit goods donated to them by CTS. Armstrong and Muirhead delivered a variety of student led design projects, developing a range of up-cycled fashion products under the brand name ReFreshed. The project gained a serious amount of local attention and was featured in the Coventry Evening Telegraph and on the BBC Midlands Today news programme. At the Lord Stafford Awards 2010 the project was selected as runner- up under the category for Innovation in Development.

Armstrong and Muirhead delivered a variety of student led design projects, developing a range of up-cycled fashion products under the brand name ReFreshed. The project gained a serious amount of local

International Exhibition and Media Coverage

• Armstrong and Muirhead then secured Erasmus funding and took the project to HELMO, Haute Ecole Libre Mosane, Liege, Belgium. Armstrong and Muirhead worked with Belgian Academics and Fashion students and exhibited their work alongside HELMO students at ‘Made in Liege’, a week- long celebration of Belgian Fashion and Design in October 2011.

• Armstrong and Muirhead have since expanded and developed the Re-Freshed Brand, showing a range of outfits on the catwalk at the Lifestyle event in Coventry on October 8th and 9th 2012. CU students produced a range of products that were sold at the event to raise funds for the charity. The event was covered by BBC World Service journalist James Melick for the BBC Business website, http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-20028803.
