A million times we needed you, a million times we cried. If love alone we couldʼve saved you, you never would have died.
In life we loved you daily, in death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place that only you could fill.

In Loving Memory of a Special SonRonald A. Bovee Jr. 6/2/64 ~ 8/7/12
To lose someone so special is really hard to bear.It hardly seems believable that youʼre no longer there.
You left us far too early, before your time it seems. And now youʼll have the chance to fulfill all those dreams.
However hard it is though weʼll take comfort in thought,Of all the memories we have, and the happiness you brought.
You always lived life to the fullest, but ours wonʼt be the same.Until the day when we can see your smiling face again.
Love and Miss you always,Mom & Dad

Lower Home Cooling Costs And Increased Energy Efficiency(NAPSI)—Energy prices in California are among the highest inthe nation. Fortunately, homeowners in the Golden State andacross the country can beat the heat at home and in their walletswith spray polyurethane foam (SPF) insulation.“SPF can make your home more comfortable by reducing airleaks and energy consumption, which is good for the environ-ment and good for California,” says Brian West, Director of Mar-keting at Henry Company, based in El Segundo, California.According to the California Energy Commission, heating andcooling accounts for 45 percent of the average energy bill for Cal-ifornia households. SPF insulation helps keep outside air fromentering the home and prevents loss of conditioned indoor air bysealing cracks, seams and joints. Energy savings from SPF canbe significant. An estimated 10 percent of Californiaʼs newly constructed single-family homes in 2013 were insulated with SPF. These SPF-insu-lated homes help reduce CO2 emissions and are expected toremove greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to those emittedby 2,700 cars. The annual estimated electricity savings add upto $3.3 million. SPF will also play a key role in Californiaʼs goalof zero net energy consumption for all new homes beginning in2020.SPF insulation can provide additional benefits:• SPF can help reduce mold and mildew growth;• SPF seals cracks and helps keep pollen and dust outside, re-ducing allergens;• As a roofing material on low-sloped or flat surfaces, SPF createsa seamless air and weather barrier, which is critical beneath roof-mounted solar panels; and• Cool-roof coatings can also be easily applied over SPF roofs.Installing SPF to insulate and air-seal attics, crawl spaces andbasements is not a do-it-yourself project. Consumers shouldwork with a professional SPF installer. To learn more about SPFbenefits, visit www.whysprayfoam.org.

Tips For Finding Work With TheGovernment
(NAPSI)—Jobs with the federalgovernment offer many benefits, everything from good pay to pen-sions.If you are looking for a governmentjob, here are some tips:• Get to know the landscape. Takethe time to identify the specific gov-ernment departments or agenciesthat are a good match for your in-terests and experience. For exam-ple, if youʼre a financialprofessional intrigued with the en-vironment, you might investigate fi-nance jobs with the National ParkService. The government Web portal US-Ajobs.gov is an excellent startingpoint to learn about federal agen-cies and the positions they need tofill. You can search the site by lo-cation, the type of job you want, the department youʼd like to workfor or your skills.• Look for openings on agencysites. All federal agencies are re-quired to list their openings publiclyand most do so on USAjobs.gov.But some agencies prefer to poston their own sites, so be sure tocheck those, too.• Talk to friends who are govern-ment employees to learn aboutopenings and to gain insights intothe job application and interviewprocess. Also check in with yourcollegeʼs career services depart-ment to see if it has established re-lationships with any governmentagencies and recruiters. Many ofthem have.• Reformat your résumé. The ter-minology used by the federal gov-ernment in job descriptions candiffer from what youʼll find in thenonprofit and private sectors. Besure your résumé speaks their lan-guage.• If you are male, make sure youhave registered with the SelectiveService within 30 days of your 18thbirthday. Young men must registerwith the Selective Service Systemto be eligible for a federal job or aPell Grant. In addition, many statesand municipalities now link theirjobs to Selective Service registra-tion. Even some government con-tractors are now requiring proof ofregistration for employment.

Page 18 Pennysaver/News August 7, 2014 COR Geothermal: A Comfortable Way To Cut Costs(NAPSI)—One way to keep your home at a comfortable temper-ature without your heating and cooling bills going sky high canbe found underground.Geothermal systems are among the most efficient, energy-sav-ing, environmentally conscious ways to climate control around.A geothermal heat pump can give you years of reliable, safehome comfort at a low operating cost. Here are a few of the ben-efits:Enhanced ComfortGeothermal systems can provide precise distribution of comfort-able air all year long, eliminating hot spots and cold spots. Duringheating, youʼll experience warm air without the hot blasts asso-ciated with ordinary gas furnaces or the cooler air of an air-sourceheat pump. Additionally, when cooling, geothermal systems de-liver cool, dehumidified air.QuietThe system can be a comfort to your ears as well. Unlike ordinaryair conditioners or heat pumps, thereʼs no noisy outdoor unit todisturb your outdoor living—or your neighbors.ReliableYou can comfortably count on the system lasting a good longtime. Unlike air conditioners and heat pumps, geothermal sys-tems are installed indoors, so theyʼre not subject to the wear andtear of rain, snow, ice, debris, extreme temperatures or vandal-ism.Environmentally FriendlyYou can even feel comfortable about their effect on the environ-ment. According to the Department of Energy and the Environ-mental Protection Agency, geothermal systems are the mostenvironmentally friendly way to heat and cool your home. Theyemit no carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide or other greenhousegases, which are considered to be major contributors to environ-mental air pollution. They are simply a natural, green heat pump.Lower Operating CostThe low cost can also be a comfort. A geothermal system fromWaterFurnace operates more efficiently than ordinary heatingand air-conditioning systems because it can deliver an astound-ing five units of energy for every one unit of electrical energyused. By combining stored earth energy with safe electric power, many homeowners who have this system realize savings of upto 70 percent for heating, cooling, and hot water.Learn MoreFor further comforting facts and stats, you can visit www.water-furnace.com or call (800) 436-7283.

How Marriage And Divorce Can Impact Your Taxes(NAPSI)—When it comes to your taxes, marriage changes everything. From choosing the correctfiling status to determining what is and is not taxable, tax time can bring some unwanted stress ifyouʼve been recently married or divorced. To help, here are some tips:• Choose the right filing status. Your filing status determines most of the amounts on your tax return, including tax bracket, exemptions and eligibility for credits and deductions.Your choice of status ultimately depends on whether you are married or unmarried on the last dayof the tax year—generally, December 31. If you are still in the process of going through a divorce, then you are still considered married. The IRS only considers you unmarried if you have a final de-cree of divorce or separate maintenance at the end of the year.Unmarried persons generally use the single filing status. However, you can file as head of householdif a qualified dependent lives with you.Married persons can file either jointly or separately. When filing jointly, the income and deductionsof both spouses are combined on one return. Filing a joint return means both of you are liable forany tax liability, even if only one of you earned the income. While filing separate returns relieves you from liability of your spouseʼs tax, your tax rate is generallyhigher and you wonʼt be allowed to claim certain credits, including the Earned Income Credit andeducation credits.DIY tax preparation solutions can help you weigh the benefits and costs for each married filing sta-tus. A popular and affordable product, TaxACT Deluxe, prepares a joint vs. separate report thatbreaks down your return by both statuses to help you choose the most advantageous.• Not all costs of marriage or divorce are deductible. You cannot deduct the costs of getting marriedor divorced. You can, however, deduct any legal fees you paid for tax advice related to divorce andany legal fees you paid to receive alimony.• Know the rules about alimony and child support. Alimony is payment written into the divorce papersfor the purpose of supporting the recipient spouse. Child support, on the other hand, is a paymentfrom the noncustodial parent to the custodial parent, intended to give the child a lifestyle similar towhat it was before the divorce.Alimony you receive is taxable income and must be included as income on your tax return. Re-member to give your Social Security number to your former spouse to avoid a $50 penalty.Alimony you pay is deductible, even if you donʼt itemize deductions. You must include your formerspouseʼs Social Security number on your tax return in order to claim the deduction.• Save time and money now and next year. If your name has changed, remember the names onyour tax return must match the names the Social Security Administration has on file. If the informa-tion does not match, the IRS will likely reject your return.Just because your marriage status changes doesnʼt mean you canʼt do your own taxes. Affordable, and even free, Web products and mobile apps will guide you. Solutions such as TaxACT provideexplanations and tips in Life Events, and check your return for errors and missed savings. It pays to think ahead. Review and adjust your withholding via Form W-4 to prevent a large tax billnext year.
