From the Caribbean coastline to the waterfalls of Argentina, with sacred valleys, volcanoes and eye-opening culture in between, Latin America will leave you breathless.

Finding a region here that you dont want to visit is highly unlikely.

More trips. More landmarks. More choice. More departures. More iconic spots. And more opportunities for adventure.

PeruHikers and history buffs arent the only ones who will be completely taken by the remarkable beauty and deep-rooted culture that identifies Peru. Think llamas trotting past jagged mountains, locals weaving colourful blankets, and lime-soaked ceviche with a side of delicious salted corn on the cob this will only start to give you an idea.

Visited on 8 of our trips. See the Andes & Amazon Highlights trip on p.56 to get a sample.

Costa riCaIf the sound of forests filled with deep valleys and low lying clouds whet your appetite for adventure, then Costa Rica is for you. Volcanoes, coffee-roasting tours, kayak trips through mangrove filled national parks its no wonder this is ranked one of the happiest places on the planet.

Visited on 3 of our trips. See the Pura Vida trip on p.61 to get a sample.

MexiCoIts hard to imagine a human alive that hasnt been tantalised by the images of dreamy sunsets and surfers under beach shacks that have come to represent Mexico. Behind the scenes, its the vine-draped cenote swimming holes, the ancient Mayan ruins, and the incredible food that we cant get enough of.

Visited on 9 of our trips. See the Mexico Grande trip on p.70 to get a sample.

argentinaGood wine, sultry tango, bustling Buenos Aires, and a rustic countryside with slow-paced traditions. Have you packed your bags yet? Better yet, pack your whole life this is one place you may dream to settle in for good.

Visited on 4 of our trips. See The Explorer trip on p.42 to get a sample.

BelizeShark swims on World Heritage barrier reefs, reggae nightlife, Caribbean sunshine. Theres not much more that one island-loving traveller could wish for. And its all topped off with a colourful capital and the ultimate slow-paced lifestyle.

Visited on 5 of our trips. See the Caribbean Encounter trip on p.66 to get a sample.

eCuador and tHe galaPagos islandsWhether you like your travels high-altitude with days spent horse riding through valleys of hot springs and waterfalls, or underwater with giant tortoises and endless biodiversity marking your days, this region of the world will set your heart into a flutter.

Visited on 7 of our trips. See the Ecuador & Galapagos Island Hopper trip on p.58 to get a sample.

guateMala If chocolate and coffee isnt enough to lure you to foreign lands, perhaps numerous lakes surrounded by volcanoes will. Still not convinced? What about charming colonial architecture and wooden lodges in the Guatemalan jungle? Yes, we thought so.

Visited on 6 of our trips. See the Mayan Rocker trip on p.65 to get a sample.

BrazilThe quintessential Latin American experience, Brazil is a heart-pounding display of nature, nightlife and culture. Wear tiny swimwear on Copacabana Beach, take in the wonder of iconic Christ the Redeemer, and be showered by the mist of breathtaking Iguassu Falls. And thats before we even get started on Rio Carnival.

    METIME

WE MAP OUT THE VERY BEST OF LATIN AMERICA. BUT WHAT HAPPENS IN BETWEEN IS COMPLETELY UP

We ensure theres plenty of free time to do your own thing on every Latin trip we offer. And we also include a suite of incredible activities and suggest ME Time optionals to inspire those who want to delve deeper.

The only thing set in stone on our trips is the destination itself. If rafting Perus Urubamba River or signing up for a surf safari in Mexico doesnt tickle your travelling fancy, then you can simply kick back and relax or do some DIY exploring.

    GOING IT ALONEWell youre travelling

GOING IT ALONELatin America is a place

    CONTIKI LOVES THE PLANET

Contiki is proud to be using 100% recycled LEIPA paper

for the body of our brochures. It is just part of The Travel

Corporation way, and another sign we really dig this

    planet of ours.

TRAvELLIng IS An EnORMOUS pRIvILEgE ThAT nOT EvERyOnE gETS TO ExpERIEncE. AnD wITh ThAT pRIvILEgE cOMES RESpOnSIbILITy. Armed with the education of experience and open eyes, travellers understand that exploring the world consciously is of paramount importance. Supporting local communities and the environment is not optional its essential. The good news is: small steps make big waves. Thats why were committed to making sure its easy for you to take a few strides in the right direction. Powered by the TreadRight Foundation, Contiki Cares is on a very exciting journey to create a community of young and passionate people who simultaneously live with conscience, and live to travel.

PROuDLY SuPPORTING LOCAL ENTERPRISEGiving back to the communities we visit and supporting local economies and traditions is at the very heart of all that we do. Were proud to support local businesses on our trips, whether this be through the places we eat, the accommodation we stay in or the destinations and ancient landmarks we visit. These profits feed directly back into the local communities, providing jobs and income for countless families and individuals. Where other travel companies may own their vehicles and run these independently of local trade, wherever possible we try and work with local suppliers. Its our way of ensuring were doing our bit for local economy.

Here are a few ways you can give back on our trips:

Cusco Centre for Textile Traditions Visit the Contiki Cares supported centre that employs more than 500 artisans in an effort to maintain the more than 10,000 year old Andean art of weaving. Youll be able to purchase some of these works on our trips that visit Cusco, and be able to visit the artisans at work on the Ultimate Inca Trail, p.52. See p.34-45 & 54-55 for trips.

Work with the Sea Turtle Conservancy in Costa Rica to learn about the nesting habits of great green and leatherback turtles. Discover the work this incredible organisation are doing to protect these ancient sea creatures from extinction, and even observe the turtles up close in their nesting grounds. You can visit the conservancy on two of our trips in Costa Rica, see p.61-63.

WAYS TO GIVE BACKThe world has never been more interconnected, and travel offers you a unique opportunity to make a difference. Heres just a few ways to give back when travelling: Eat local Support local artisans Respect traditions

BOOk EARLYTo ensure you get your spot, we advise booking at least three months before travelling between Oct and Apr and 6 months before travelling in May to Sept, although it is at times possible to get permits outside these timelines. Please note that the Trail is closed in February for maintenance.

When you book your trip (as early in advance as possible) its essential that you let us know the following details: full name (as appears on passport), nationality, date of birth and gender.
