Eastern Biotech and Life Sciences is a Medical Diagnostic Services company based in Dubai Science Park. The company has been in operation for over 10 years and has been at the forefront of Diagnostic healthcare in the region. The company was established to bring a paradigm shift in the diagnostic industry in the MENA region through adoption of innovative technologies and exceptional customer service.

Eastern Biotech and Life Sciences started with a goal of providing predictive and personalised healthcare, the company filled the niche in the highly specialized diagnostic and emerging genetic testing market. Upon achieving a leading market position and regional brand recognition, the company incorporated routine diagnostic testing to its portfolio by setting up its own diagnostic laboratory in Barsha, Dubai and developed a web portal offering all diagnostic tests on B2B and B2C platforms.

The combined Eastern Group of Companies that includes Eastern Biotech and Eastern Clinical Laboratories now offers its services through various channels which include partner laboratories, clinics, hospitals independent doctors, and a ‘Direct-to-Customer’ web portal. The experience gained so far has also allowed us to enhance our services to include Quality and Accreditation support for existing laboratories and Project Management for the setting up and commissioning of new laboratories.

Dr. Peter Cruse is an experienced medical doctor and former Chief Specialist and Clinical Professor of Anatomical Pathology who was a Rhodes Scholar and an MBA gold medallist. He has an extensive track record of running successful hospital, clinic and laboratory projects, and of leading clinical business turn-arounds in the GCC region. Dr Cruse has put together complex healthcare projects with multiple stakeholders and many sites, including successful public-private partnerships. He also has senior healthcare management consulting experience at the government and corporate level in several GCC and other developing countries. He is a consultant for the Eastern Group of Companies on Strategic development & Investor relations.

Dr. Amrish Kamboj has joined Eastern Clinical Laboratories in the position of Chief Operating Officer and Laboratory Director. Dr. Amrish is a Senior Pathologist with over 12 years of experience in the field and has a special interest in clinical pathology, including predictive genetics, cancer genetics and functional pathology. He has done his Graduation and Post-Graduation medical degrees from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. In addition, he has been a Laboratory Director, managing several laboratories during his career in India, South America and United Arab Emirates. Most recently, he has been the Group Director of Operations of Lifeline Health Care Group in Dubai.

Ranjini Mohan, has a Bachelor’s in Biochemistry with a Minor in Computer Science from California State University, Hayward. Upon completion of the degree, she worked for Applied Biosystems, now Thermo Fisher Scientific, in Pleasanton, California for more than 8+ years. She also has a Master’s in Biotechnology (MBT) from San Jose State University and later joined integenX, a start-up company in Pleasanton, California, as a Process/QC Development Scientist for three years. Dr. Sanjida Ahmed is the Research Director at Eastern Biotech & Life Sciences since its inception in 2005, after completion of her PhD in Cell Biology from Yokohama City University, Japan. Dr. Sanjida Ahmed earned her Bachelors’ and Post-Graduation in Biochemistry with excellent academic records from Dhaka University in Bangladesh. She is responsible for the Research & Development, Quality Control and Overall Operations of the company.

Mohmmed Riyaz, joined Eastern Biotech in 2007. He completed PGDIA after graduating from Dharwad University, Bangalore, India. He worked as a Programmer for BDPS, a software company in Andhra Pradesh, India and moved to Dubai in 2007. He has been heading the IT Department of Eastern Biotech for the last 8 years and has a cumulative experience of 10 years in the field of Information Technology.

Sheena Ajay , joined Eastern Biotech in 2013. She graduated in year 2008 specialising Medical Laboratory Technology from Mahatma Gandhi University, India and counts more than 6 years experience in the field laboratory and specially trained in Histopathology from a leading cancer centre, Amala Cancer Centre, India. She is responsible for managing the laboratory, Quality Management and handling all queries related to all tests and results.

Randa Mourad, joined Eastern Biotech in July 2010 as the Customer Service Manager. She studied Business Administration in the Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration, Helwan University, Egypt. She worked previously in Emaar Dubai. Randa is leading the Customer Service Department to ensure that Eastern Biotech is providing an excellent service to all its clients. She is the corporate coordinator especially for the Arabic media and press and also, the direct point of contact of the Arabic speaking clientele.
