L Rig is the short of chain drive rig. The driving is implemented

with several diesel engines in compound through chain

transmission to drive rotary table. LDB rig uses independent VFD

drive to drive rotary table, powered by auxiliary generator and

energy-saving generator.

J is short for belt-driving rig, which is driven by diesel engines through belts in compound. Hydraulic converter is used, through belt, to drive mud pumps, drawworks, energy-saving auxiliary generator, and through gear box to drive rotary table. JDB rig uses independent VFD drive to drive rotary table, powered by

auxiliary generator and energy-saving generator.


The design, manufacture, and complete conform to API Spec Q1, 4F, 7K, 8A/C and RP500.

The design and manufacture conform to GB3826.1, GB3836.2, GB7258, SY6584 and 3C mandatory standards.

Rig components

ZPEC designs and manufactures different kind of masts and substructures, the erections are synchronously erected, continuously erected, dual erected, encasement type, self-erected, vertically erected, packaged type,

and the tower type for offshore purpose.

Mast and substructure

Synchronously erected type: Mast legs root on a base with drawwowks installed on rear floor. At low level, mast and substructure are inclined forward. The first section of mast and top right and left of substructure are

connected with horizontal beam. At the time of mast rising, the connection joints of top right and left drive

substructure to rise. All erection sequence need no change of wireline and non-stop, thus save erection time.


Continuously erected type: Mast legs root on a base with drawwowks installed on floor. At low level, top side inclines backward, top of substructure connected with base by 8 pins. Mast rises to its position through wireline driven by drawworks. When it is on its position the 8 pins disassembled between substructure top and base, and no change of wireline the whole rig is erected.

Dual erected type: Mast legs root on a base with drawwowks installed on floor. At low level, top side inclines backward. Dual erected type uses two wirelines to raise, respectively, the mast and substructure. Firstly, one wireline is used to raise

mast to its position and then disassembling the wireline from the mast and thread it to substructure wiring system to raise

substructure. As the substructure is raised after mast being erected, it is regarded as revolving erection type.

Vertically erected type: Mast legs root on substructure base and drawwowks is used to raise mast. The substructure is raised vertically and driven by drawworks or independent hydraulic system. When it is erected to its position the ‘A’ frame

is to be connected with mast legs. This erection system can meet the requirement of height adjustment to adjust BOP stack at

different formation. This also meets the requirement of moving with full strings on it.

Tower type: This type is suitable for jack-up platform. It has working height of 49 to 52 meters. The mast is supported with “H” beam structured tower. The area is square with whole rig being as pyramid interspaces. Main parts consist of four

sheets of spread out frames constructed with high strength alloy steel connected with locked bolts. The oblique plane on

drawworks side is constant from floor up to crown blocks and the other sides changed at monkey board in order for arrange

strings. Two guiding tracks are equipped for top drive and for client option equipped with pipe conveyor, string racking

system, dead line clamps. Jacks are fixed at the ends of mast legs for leveling and adjustment. All members on steel structure

are hot zinc soaked treatment to meet corrosion prevention requirement at marine condition.


ZPEC drawworks covers single shaft single speed gear transmission, single shaft dual speed transmission, three speed transmission, and four speed transmission structures.

Control systemThe control system has ROSSHILL (imitation) and WOODWARD (numerical) for generators, and ROSSHILL and ABB,

SIEMENS for AC transmission. The systems integration can be supplied for client requirement, using SIEMENS PLC and

Drilling rig solid moving system is matched with drilling rig. It is used to realize solid movement of substructure and upper equipments of the rig and horizontal solid movement of mast and traveling system of the rig. Drilling Engineering Service

ZPEC, as an independent contractor and a member of IADC, owns 17 drilling crews. Skilled crew members are capable of drilling vertical, horizontal, directional, cluster, and other special purpose wells for oil and gas, water, geothermal and coal bed methane exploration; and performing negative-pressure drilling in complex conditions. ZPEC has drilled more than 1,500 various wells with the depth from 3,000m to 5,000m including 500 high pressure gas wells; the average annual accumulated drilling depth is up to 500,000m.

During the past decade, not only has it successfully explored and developed Zhongyuan Oilfield, Sichuan Oilfield, Changqing Oilfield, and etc. with extremely complicated geological conditions in terms of rich faults, deep oil and gas reservoirs, thick salt and/or salty gypsum interbeded zones, abnormal high and/or low pressure formations where blowout, loss of circulation, pipe-stuck, and caving-in or sloughing are always easy to happen. Owing to many new records made and satisfied performance done, ZPEC is enjoying a high reputation for its drilling crews in the industry.

Cementing Operation Service

The well cementing teams benefit from years experience and advanced technology in well completion. The cementing equipments include advanced Halliburton CPT-Y4, CPT-N4 cementing trucks, which feature a max. flow rate of 30 m3/min., max. pressure 10,000 Psi. ZPEC owns a complete set of imported API cementing lab, test instrument, and a Cementing Technology Research Institute.

ZPEC can provide design and cementing services with small space, long sealing segment, liner cementing, two stage cementing, low density cementing; it has the matured technology for directional wells, horizontal wells, high pressure wells, low pressure wells, easy-to-leak wells, salt wells, high temperature wells and geothermal wells. Currently, ZPEC is capable of providing cementing service for more than 200 wells per year.

Geologic Log Service

ZPEC governs over 20 geologic drilling log crews and provides integrated services that embrace mud logging and geologic research. Relying upon a workforce with years experience in field logging, cutting-edge technologies, and complete instruments, ZPEC can perform conventional geological logging, compound logging, gas logging, geochemical logging and engineering logging; and currently provides logging services for more than 300 wells per year.

Directional Well Service

ZPEC possesses of design technologies for assorted well profiles and leading design software, and engaged in providing design services for any type of well profiles. Currently, the company is capable of undertaking designs and job execution for 2D, 3D directional, multiwell cluster, horizontal drainhole, column target wells, killer well, and anti-collision, obstacle-bypassing wells. ZPEC provides directional well technical service package deals, technicians, and on-site tools & instruments (down-hole motor, non-magnetic drill collar, bent subs, and single-shot, multidrop, electromagnetic multi-shot, and wired logging during drilling, gyrometer instrument and etc.).

ZPEC has acquired up to 700 directional wells drilling experience, and now is capable of providing directional drilling services for more than 150 wells annually.

Drilling Mud ServiceZPEC has been engaged in petroleum and gas exploration and development for years and many mud technicians have been well trained; its mud services and technicians have long been very competitive in Chinese market. ZPEC collaborates with several universities and research institutes, and has yielded substantial results. ZPEC has applied all types of mud systems to about 2,000 exploration and development wells, such as water base, oil base and oil-in-water based; dispersing, non-dispersing, low solid content, and non solid content; polymer, salt saturated with 3-sulphonated chemicals base, and metallic cation; and anti-leaking, leak-stopping, and hydrocarbon reservoir protective mud systems. ZPEC can offer technical services, technical consultancy, mud testing tools & instruments, solid control equipment, and etc.

Zhongman International Petroleum Equipment (Beijing) Co., Ltd. is the subsidiary company of ZPEC. It is not only a sales center for ZPEC drilling machines and accessories, but also operates import & export for oil special-purpose vehicles, drilling & exploiting equipment, pipes, tools, transport equipment and other machinery and equipment.

Natural Gas Marketing

ZPEC has leveraged its topnotch equipment and nouveau management philosophies to promote use of clean energies at a great, high-level scale. ZPEC is specialized in construction, operation, and management of vehicle natural gas refilling stations and installation and technical support for vehicle natural gas equipments. To date, the company has built 2 primary refilling stations, 21 secondary refilling stations and 4 auto fitting plants. Now, such a marketing network is shaped in which the primary refilling stations deal in wholesale, secondary refilling stations deal in retailing, and the refitting plants provide supporting services.
