Property risks. Modus operandi

Carjacking is one of the methods used to steal vehicles: threat of violence and the use of firearms to steal vehicles have the advantage of getting the vehicle and its original

keys at the same time

Homejacking is another kind of crime committed by entering in people properties to steal vehicle keys using

violence or threats. Domestic burglary for stealing keys is the most recent trend detected by police forces

Vehicle theft was a quite simple matter since few years ago. Thieves broke into parked cars and drove them away or

duplicated keys to enter the vehicle. Recently thefts have generally decreased. But thieves, tied to criminal

organizations, have become more aggressive and even harm vehicle owners becoming violent

More than 50% of stolen vehicles are never recovered, most of them being trafficked in eastern Europe and north

African countries5© 2009 Cobra Automotive Technologies SpA, All rights reserved

Transportation risks

Driving is an exciting experience. Nevertheless it is a risky activity for the drivers, the passengers and, in general, for

the people around the vehicle. To secure driving and to manage these risks, the solution is to contribute in

supporting drivers while they are driving, displaying their performances and consequently educating them

to drive better

Low speed driving can cause danger both for cars and people, due to the fact that every car has a blind zone.

In the United States the North American no profit association Kids and Cars has widely demonstrated such

risks, tracking accidents occurred to children left unattended around motor vehicles. Stating in this way the nonsense for

the society of such kind of deaths and injuries

There are 62 children behind this vehicle. Not one of them can be seen by the driver behind the wheel www.kidsandcars.com

Cobra solutions to secure people and vehicles property.

The network of Secure Operating Centres

In the European countries where theft is a major issue, such as France, Italy and the UK, Cobra has invested in its

own Secure Operating Centre

In the rest of the territory Cobra qualifies and selects local Secure Operating Centres that have the required experience in theft procedures and are authorised to cooperate with the

local police authorities

The monitoring and tracking of vehicles are carried out by Secure Operating Centers (SOC) which operate 24 hours a

day, 7 days a week

The SOC can communicate with the vehicle owner via telephone, GSM mobile phone, e-mail and, in case of an

unexpected event, liaise with police forces to manage the critical situation

LIN Bus, magnetic and piezo sound technologies. These technologies can be integrated on a system level

(systems) or offered on a component level (components)

The antitheft include :

Alarm control units

Sirens

Immobilisers

Anti lift sensors

Radar anti intrusion sensors

Active recognition devices: radio commands and electronic keys

Passive recognition devices: driver card

The antitheft has the objective to prevent the illegal action

The processes related to the production of Electronic Systems are totally managed in house. The facilities are

placed in a light, airy place on full view through windows to the outside gardens

The production facilities to serve the European and Russian market are based in Varese, Italy in a 10,000

sq.m area located in the Campo dei Fiori natural park in the foothills of the Italian Alps

The Asian headquarter in Beijing, China currently covers a surface of 2,000 sq.m. In 2010 a new building will be

operational in a green area of the Beijing Technological park: about 14,000 sq.m. of which 10,000 dedicated to manufacturing facilities. In China, Cobra is assembling

electronic systems and by 2010 the product’s core electric board will be produced here as well
