Remove pump casing, may require light tapping with soft mallet.

With casing removed, unscrew impeller nut by turning counter clock wise.

Use a 9/16” wrench to remove impeller nut.

With impeller nut removed, the impeller, back plate and seal assembly can be removed by pulling toward you.

(Pumps built after July of 2004 are fitted with an impeller nut versus bolt)

Complete removal by pulling assembly off of the motor, or bearing frame shaft. Make sure to check shims located on motor shaft. It is not necessary to replace shims unless they have been damaged.

Place assembly impeller down on soft or non metallic surface.

Using a 1/8” allen wrench loosen both set screws in the spring retainer.

Slide spring retainer off of the impeller shaft, using care not to lose the three springs.

Remove rotary seal and o-ring.

Loosen seal retainer ring using a 7/16” wrench by turning the four bolts counter clockwise.

Place back plate over impeller, using care not to drop the

plate onto the impeller.

Install new L gasket and stationary seal. Note stationary seal can be used on both

sides.

Re-install seal retainer and 4 bolts.

Slide rotary seal over impeller shaft.

Install new rotary seal o-ring over impeller shaft.

Using the spring retainer upside

down press rotary seal o-ring into

place.

Remove spring retainer and install

tabbed washer, align tabs with flats on the

rotary seal.

Install spring retainer with springs pointed down. A light coat of grease or sealant can

be used to retain springs into the

retainer. Align tabs of washer onto the

retainer.

Using a 1/8” allen wrench as a spacer,

press the sprint retainer down to

compress the wrench onto the rotary seal.

While keeping pressure on the spring

retainer, remove wrench and tighten

both set screws.

Install splash defector with flat side toward the motor. Install

until deflector is over the end of

the impeller shaft.

Apply a light coat of food grade anti-seize onto motor shaft and

install complete assembly onto the motor by aligning key and keyway.

Press back plate onto the motor

adaptor to ensure clearance of .030” between impeller and back plate is obtained. Use a feeler gauge to

check clearances.

If clearance between impeller and back plate needs to be adjusted, shims can be

added or removed from motor shaft.

Re-install impeller nut and o-ring

onto shaft stud and tighten with 9/16”

wrench turning clockwise.

Install causing over back plate and o-

ring.

Install clamp and tighten, check to ensure clamp is

installed correctly by clamping both

casing and adaptor.

Install piping, turn power back into

operation.
