Getting Started

Blanchard Public Schools in partnership with Norman Alcohol Addiction & Information Center started the Blanchard Community Coalition in 2005.

The community came together after receiving the Oklahoma Prevention Needs Assessment results of high alcohol and drug abuse among middle and high school students.

The coalition worked to find a place for youth and families to be healthy and active by writing grants to supply park equipment, prevention programs, and fun activities.

The coalition partnered with the SWAT program and the youth presented to the school board to pass a 24/7 no tobacco policy within the schools.
