What is it? This exciting six week initiative provides a structured programme of activities to suit all ages and abilities. Whether you are looking to try new activities, be motivated by others, lose weight or just stay healthy, then this is the perfect opportunity for you! What does it involve? Participants receive a weekly timetable of activities, each led by a team of experienced tutors and local volunteers. A broad range of activities to suit everyone will be in place at different times on each day. There will also be a number of health information events to provide advice and guidance on developing a healthier lifestyle. So whether it is a light walk, jogging, aerobics, football, pilates, cycling, circuits or gym session to name a few, there is something for everyone – all in the company of other people! How does it work? (1) Participants will be randomly put into teams, which they will remain in for the duration of the programme. Each team will look to motivate each other and encourage as much participation in the activities. (2) Individuals will earn points for their team by attending activities. On each consecutive Monday night participants will be weighed. Weights will be recorded and only the cumulative weight loss (we hope!) for each team will be publicised on a weekly basis. Individual weights will not be made public at any stage. (3) After the end of six weeks, the activity hours and weight loss totals will be combined. The team, whose combination of activity hours and weight loss is greatest, will be deemed the winning team. Community Boot Camp Community Boot Camp
