Structure

Corporate Services Branch provides a broad range of advice, services and support. It takes a lead role in ensuring that Comcare meets its corporate responsibilities as well as working with other branches to enable the achievement of core business objectives.

The key priorities of the branch are to:

1. Improve the processes and procedures that are fundamental to the smooth operation of Comcare core business, ensuring they are:

comprehensive and complete and include supporting documentation and necessary training 

not onerous and do not result in an unnecessary impost on staff support decision-making readily available to managers and staff meet our legislative requirements

JOB INFORMATION PACKThe IT Business Engagement & Solutions Section is located in the Information Systems Section in the Corporate Services Branch. The Corporate Services Branch has an internal focus and is responsible for delivery and maintenance of a range of services to internal staff within Comcare. It also reports to the Executive to assist in the management of Comcare’s internal staffing, workforce management, finances and IT systems.

The IT Business Engagement & Solutions Section works cooperatively with other areas within Comcare to manage a range of IT projects and provide advice and analysis of their business needs to deliver specialised IT systems and work solutions which assists support their business requirements.

The Unit is responsible for the analysis and delivery of sustainable IT solutions and systems which enable Comcare to:

Provide better service to stakeholders by providing sophisticated and tailored IT business solutions.

Ensure Internal needs are met by implementing and improving Business Intelligence solutions

Support and maintain and upgrade current systems Meet stakeholder governance and auditing recommendation needs.

Delivery of IT Business Engagement & Solutions Services

Main areas of management and delivery are:

Business analysis; Project Management Training and support Current system fixes/enhancements Reporting

Who Comcare is looking for?

Comcare is seeking a highly motivated team member to join the new IT Business Engagement & Solutions Section as the Assistant Director, Governance & Business Engagement. IT Business Engagement and Solutions Section is the front door to ICT services and is responsible for developing and implementing an effective business engagement model with Comcare business areas.

Key duties include managing the ICT annual audit cycle with its associated gathering of pertinent information, developing responses to findings and reporting to management on outcomes. In addition, this role entails supporting the ICT governance structures through the provision of secretariat services to the ICT Committee which report to the Comcare executive. The successful applicant will also participate in business planning and risk management reporting.

We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience:3

CoBIT. Well developed written and oral communication skills; Ability to participate effectively in a team environment and to develop

innovative solutions to work challenges; Excellent research and analytical skills; and Excellent understanding of project management and reporting capabilities.

We are seeking an individual who has exceptional communication and liaison skills, problem solving and analytical skills, and a demonstrated record in stakeholder relationship management. The role offers significant scope for both autonomous and team based work, and the management of other staff in the section.

Successful applicants will have the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and produce high quality results whilst meeting tight deadlines.

An APS employee must behave honestly and with integrity in the course of APS employment

An APS employee must act with care and diligence in the course of APS employment

An APS employee, when acting in the course of APS employment, must treat everyone with respect and courtesy, and without harassment.
