Coloring Comics with Photoshop Syllabus Instructor K. Michael Russell Who should take this course? This course is designed for students of all coloring knowledge levelsbeginners to intermediate to advanced. Even experienced Photoshop users will discover new coloring techniques and find timesaving tips, tricks, and shortcuts throughout. You’ll leave this course a more confident and competent colorist, so anyone interested in learning the art of professional comic book coloring should take this course.
What do you get with this course?
1. More than sixty tutorials (61 to be exact!) which equates to 10 hours of realtime video
lessonsavailable for online viewing or online + downloadable depending on which version of the course you choose.
2. Over 20 highresolution sequential sample pages from my friends and professional comic artists Edwin Huang ( SKULLKICKERS, STREET FIGHTER ) , Max Dunbar ( SLASH & BURN, BALDUR’S GATE ), and Jonathan Brandon Sawyer ( CRITICAL HIT, WELCOME BACK ) for practice.
3. All lessons in highdefinition (1080p) viewable from your PC, laptop, tablet, or mobile/cell phone. 4. Bonus downloadable Photoshop presets for brushes, tools, swatches, actions, and color profiles
(with instructions on how to install them), so there’s no need to tweak settings except for your personal preferences. (Manual settings are also provided to cover all Photoshop versions.)
5. My custom keyboard shortcuts. Of course, if you are already comfortable with Photoshop defaults, that’s fine, but I prefer all the primary tools to be accessible without moving my left hand on the keyboard.
6. Personal critiques and feedback in the discussion section of the course from the instructor. Or just get your questions answered there.
7. A 25% discount on all future courses. Can I view an example lesson? Absolutely. There are two free videos available to view in the course with no purchase or payment information required. What version of Photoshop is required? Can I use another program? I use Photoshop CS6 or CC in the lessons, but any version of Photoshop will work. Other programs such as Manga Studio generally have similar functionality, but only Photoshop techniques will be used throughout the course.

You are welcome to use other programs if you can find the equivalent functions. Photoshop CS2 is available for free (legally!) as of this writing in January 2016 at the following links: This is subject to change. http://www.techspot.com/downloads/3689adobephotoshopcs2.html http://www.redmondpie.com/downloadadobephotoshopcs2forfreelegallywhileyoustillcan/ https://helpx.adobe.com/creativesuite/kb/cs2productdownloads.html Photoshop CC is available for $10 month as of this writing as well. This is also subject to change. Do I need a digital drawing tablet? Short answer… yes. Long answer… yeeeesssss. Coloring is possible in Photoshop with a mouse, but is much more difficult. A tablet is highly recommended. Wacom tablets are the industry standard with new models starting around $70 as of this writing. Any Wacom digital drawing tablet will work. I use a 12year old Wacom Intuos2 for these lessons and my professional work. It just won’t die! What payment methods are accepted? Paypal, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, Discover and Diners Club. Gift cards and prepaid cards that are one of those types are also accepted. More questions? Don’t hesitate to email me at [email protected] , and I will be glad to answer any questions regarding this course that you may have.
