SECULAR STRUCTURE
INTRODUCTION – A secular building is a building for secular purposes . The Gothic style influenced defensive structures. The term is used in fine arts and cultural science , for example in the history of architecture.
To define the secular buildings its usages form
each other
and to standardize.
The antonym of secular buildings is the sacred
architecture which clerical or religious purpose is
reserved.
Example of secular buildings are museums ,
townhalls,
university buildings and railway stations .

INTRODUCTION
The GPO of the city of Calcutta India. The post office handles most of the city inbound and outbound mail and parcels. The imposing structure of the GPO is one of the LANDMARKS in the city.
HISTORY
The site where the GPO is located was actully the site of the first fort william. An alley beside the guard- house, that housed the infamous 1756 BLACK HOLE OF CALCUTTA (1756 AD ) .
