An Introductory visualization of the College ERP

The administration of a college/university level organization is no less than that of

any corporate organization today. The amount of data available in a college, the

complexity involved in their management, their accessibility to the right candidate in the most presentable fashion and at the most appropriate time becomes a really re-

sponsible task. Colleges as organizations face many problems common to most mod-

ern organizations including for instance, the problems of co-ordinating resources,

controlling costs, of stimulating and facilitating enterprise among staff and so on.

Manual systems which are still being used in some of the colleges today are error

prone and incapable of handling such a huge heap of data. Generation of reports,

management of entity (student/employee etc.) data records, searching any student from thousands of students, employee’s salary management, management of inven-

tory and such other managerial tasks requires fast processing, managed data re-

cords, data accessibility, synchronization among the jobs done and a good communi-

cation between departments. The manual system fails at all such fronts.

An ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) System covers the fullest range of organiza-

tional activities and processes and are adopted with the aim of achieving substantial

cost savings as well as improved access to “tried and tested” solutions, new releases

and an opportunity to update procedures and align them with perceive “best prac-tice”.
