Overview

The purpose of this presentation is to provide the “look and feel” of the CCC Luminis portal for students.

This is a dynamic process and changes are expected.

District and CCC controlled features will be explained.

Once again, this is an evolving project and nothing has been set in stone.

Please feel free to give your suggestions, comments & ideas.

The “Tabs”

The “Home” Tab

The “Home” Tab

District controlled.

Will be the “landing” page/tab after sign-in.

Will be the same for everyone in the entire District.

User may have “multi-institutional” roles (i.e., CCC Student, GWC Student, OCC Student, employee, faculty.

Will have more than one “Announcements” channel (i.e., CCC Announcements, GWC Announcements, etc.).

Look and feel is controlled and determined by end users home institution. (The role that goes across Luminis first.)

Home institution determines the banner at the top of the page.

Channels are subject to change.

HOME –“Personal Announcements” Channel

District controlled. Targeted announcement just for “smart & notify”

events from the Banner system. Will be used primarily just for students.

HOME -“CCC Announcements” Channel

Controlled by Target Announcements Admin. @ CCC. Institution-specific announcements channel. Targeted announcements=can determine which

end-users get this.

HOME -“Google Search” Channel

Temporary search engine that searches the four CCCD websites only.

HOME - “CCC Events” Channel

Controlled by CCC.

HOME - “Outlook Web Access” (OWA) Channel

Only for District employee/faculty roles.

HOME - “GMAIL” Channel

Primary e-mail system for all student roles.

HOME - “My Calendar” Channel

Will show fully expanded calendar.

HOME - “Quick Links” Channel

Each college decides what links go here. CCC Content Admins control their own Quick Links but are

only putting in their “sections”. However, other content/links will appear here dependent

upon what district puts out and what roles the user has. Possible to have quick links from district and three colleges.

HOME - “Bookmarks” Channel

Customizable for the user.

User can store what they want here.

Mostly “self-service” channels that feed from Banner.

Faculty member who is also a student= no Student tab.

The student channels on the Student tab will now be on the Faculty tab.

Employee who is also a student=will still have a student tab.
