Powered by a 5 HP 480V or 575V AC motor and a planetary

gear-driven auger that feeds dust at a continuous rate of 90lb/hr into the air stream by a 3300 blower. In contrast to otherdusters, the Worm does not blow air directly into the hopper,

allowing the delivery of dry dust into the air stream, creating

further carry down the entry. Other trickle dusters blow 100%

humidity air into the dust tank, causing the dust to become

wet, and the damp dust will not travel as far in the return en-

tries. Patent Pending.

Boasts a capacity of 700 lb and will auger feed 70lb/min through 2" hose up to 200’. Primarily usedin place of the bantam style dusters but can be oper-ated by one man and refilled less frequently.

Cogar Manufacturing of Beckley, WV an-nounces the development of its new ultra low-vein feeder/ tail piece combination. The unit isdesigned to handle the discharge of shuttle carsor battery haulage without the stop-start sequencewhen unloading the haulage equipment. This in-creases section production as the haulage equip-ment can discharge more rapidly. It should alsodecrease maintenance on the discharge conveyorof shuttle cars and the hydraulics of battery equip-ment haulage.

The Cogar unit will also shorten the time requiredfor belt moves. The wheel mounted feeder is de-signed to be moved by a scoop with the feederand the belt tail piece being placed at the sametime. Hydraulic anchor jacks are engaged to lockthe feeder and belt tail piece in place. Additionalhydraulic cylinders can move the tail piece to aidin belt alignment. For moving, the wheels arelowered by hydraulic jacks.

The feeder is designed with a variable speed con-veyor system which can be fine tuned to matchyour conveyor capacity and help eliminatespillage. The frame is of heavy duty constructionwith the conveyor deck lined with special carbonchromium overlay plating for extended life. Itcan be equipped with several types of heavy dutyconveyor chain and flight combinations includ-ing Cogar’s lug style chain with solid 2” by 6”solid alloy flight bars.

The tail piece features a self cleaning tail rollerand a graduated bed plate to transition the beltfrom the tail roller to the proper trough angle tomatch various conveyor structures.

This unit is designed with the simplicity and de-pendability of other Cogar feeders. It shouldallow mines operating ” in-seam” operations tooperate more efficiently. The feeder/tail piece isavailable in units as low as 28”. Cogar Manufac-turing builds and services a complete line of un-derground, bin, truck dump, and reclaim typefeeders used in coal, potash and salt operations.Contact your Cogar representative for additionalinformation.
