Before You Begin...

To run the TurningPoint Dashboard, launch it from START / PROGRAMS / TURNING POINT

Many teachers like to integrate these clickers to collect response information from students during PowerPointpresentations. For this quick-start guide, we’ll setup a simple PowerPoint with a few sample questions. You must launch PowerPoint from within the TurningPoint Dashboard. Click the large “PowerPoint Polling”button. This will open PowerPoint. You’ll see you now have a TurningPoint tab at the top of the PowerPointinterface.

This is a quick and easy way to get audience responses for formative assessment. You can also use TurningPoint in the “Anywhere Polling” format. This permits you to have a small TurningPointwindow over any other window (such as a web page or a page of text). In this scenario, you would verbally askthe class a question and collect responses. There are many additional powerful possibilities. Clickers can be assigned unique student IDs,which you can use to collect assessment data (imagine clickers self-grading a paper test). Thesesituations get very complex to setup and program and are beyond the scope of this quick-starttutorial. You can also create question sets that can be loaded without using PowerPoint.
