Please make sure you follow the directions carefully. 1) Get a stopwatch or watch with second hands or place yourself so that you can see the clock. 2) Have your subject (partner) relax for 2 minutes. 3) Have himlher take his pulse for 30 seconds. Now multiply that times 2 and record it in the chart under Resting Pulse. 4) Next you will tap the desk 5 times with a pen or pencil and immediately have the subject stand up and hop on 1 leg for 30 seconds. 5) Have the subject take his/her pulse for 30 seconds. Multiply that number times 2 and record under hop # 1. 6) Repeat steps 4 and 5 four more times, making sure to record the results each time. 7) Now ask the subject to sit and relax until his/her pulse returns to normal. 8) Next, you will tap the desk 5 times and ask the subject to take his/her pulse. (They DO NOT hop this time). Record the data. 9) Now, complete the procedure section and answer the questions together.

Subject: _

Experimenter, you need to get the experiment guide and procedure sheet from Ms. Genereux.Subject, you will just relax for now.

Results - Record the results in the table below:

Questions:1) What is the conditioned stimuli? _

2) What is the conditioned response? _

3) What happened to the subject's pulse rate when hoping?

4) What happened to the subject's pulse rate for the final tap? Explain the change. Whydid it change, what happened?

5) What was the purpose of this experiment?

6) What is your response to this experiment? What did you learn? Like about it? Dislike?

7) What would you do differently to obtain different results?

Conclusion: Explain, what was the end result? Why was this a demonstration of ClassicalConditioning? Did you get the results you think you should have? Explain why or why not.
