The Process Recipe of making quality caps
At: Our State-‐of-‐Art Factory
Transforma1on from Sheet to Cap
• The aluminum coil is straightened and cut into sheets of different sizes, as per requirement.
• Aluminum sheets of thickness .19, .21, .23, .26 mm are used to make caps.
• .19 mm sheets are usually used to make small and shallow caps.
• .21 and above dimension sheets are usually used to make deep caps.
Sheet straightening and cuWng machine
Raw sheets ready for processing
• MTO washing is done on both sides, to clean the sheet from any previous oil stains and other impuri1es. The sheet is passed through oven at 1750 C for 12 minutes, to complete the process.
Machine used for MTO Washing, Lacquering, Sizing and Coa1ng
• Lacquering is done to the side where inside content will be in contact. This creates a layer doesn’t allow content to react with aluminum. The sheet is passed through oven again at a temperature of 175 0C for 12 minutes, to strengthen the lacquer layer.
• Sizing of aluminum sheet is done on the printable side, to prepare the sheet for prin1ng and to ensure that the inks and coa1ng adhere with the sheet. The sheet is then passed through the oven at 2100 C temperature, for 12 minutes.
• Coa<ng is done as per requirement on the surface that will get printed. The sheet is then dried at a temperature of 1750 C for 12 minutes, to get the effect.
• The sized side of the sheet is then printed using an offset prin<ng machine. It is then dried in an oven at 1750 C for 12 minutes.

• The printed side of the sheets are then varnished and dried in the oven at required temperature.
• The printed sheets are then moved to cuVng department where they get cut according to size men1oned on the sheet.
• Further the sheets are sent to punching department, where they are drawn through power presses, according to size men1oned, by punching them once, twice or thrice as per required length.
Second Draw (cup to cap)
• The caps are then moved to the Dry Offset Coa<ng/Prin<ng (DOC/DOP) department if side prin1ng/coa1ng is required.
• The caps are dried in oven a`er each process of coa1ng, prin1ng and varnishing.

• The caps can be moved to screen prin<ng department as per requirement, if screen prin1ng or foil prin<ng is required. There is no oven drying required during screen prin1ng as we use quick dry inks.

• If embossing or dembossing is required on the top of the cap it can be done here. Then the embossed part can be pad printed in order to get registered prin1ng, if required.

• Caps are now moved to packaging where wadding/liner/washer or pourer is placed in the cap. There are different op1ons available for inside liners depending on customer’s requirement and applica1on. Few of the examples are EP (Poly Ethylene), Latex, Saranex, Saran+Tin as per.
Packing Pourer using Hot Melt Inser<ng Wad/Liners
• The caps are passed through electric counters, to get the exact count of caps and are sorted online, before final dispatch.
Wadding and coun<ng through wad machine Coun<ng and packing in cartons
• Samples of caps are collected and checked for quality, dimensions (OD/ID/ Height/PH/SH), sealing fitness and torque to open, with proper documenta1on, during every process.
